Default eBay fees help needed

Hi guys,

I'm pretty new to stealth and I would like to ask you for an advice about paying eBay fees.
Let me explain the situation. Usually I'm paying off eBay fees using PayPal or Entropay a few days before it's due. However it looks like I won't be able to do that this month (run out of cash and payment date approaching soon). Right now I'm looking for an option not to get into troubles with eBay/PayPal. As far as I know PayPal collecting their fees on 16th of every month first from PayPal account and then (if not full amount collected) via direct debit from bank account.
Question. Does anyone knows if eBay/PayPal will be able to see the name of bank account (which is in my real name) when direct debit fails (due to insufficient funds)?

Or is it better to cancel direct debit on eBay before it's too late?

I would be much appreciated if someone can advise me on how this problem could be solved?

They will be able to see the name yes

That doesn't mean that the DD will always fail, but it can fail.

You can just go into PayPal and choose the 'Fund from card' option instead of the 'fund from bank' option. That would prevent PayPal trying to dip into your bank account.

Just make sure you get the fees paid off as soon as you can afterwards. You usually get 2 weeks before eBay start limiting the account for missed fees

Thanks, JamesNorth101, for your reply. I thought about that but also I thought that if card payment fails (no money) then they automatically forcing direct debit from a BANK ACCOUNT.
I'm not sure if it works like that but as far as I remember it happened to me before on my original eBay account they started direct debit after failed card payment.

If you put the card as the payment method then they wont force the DD from your bank account. At least not that I have ever come across

JamesNorth101,

Could you clarify do you mean 'Fund from card' in PayPal account under Pre-approved payments "Back up funding source" and not changing the type of payment in eBAY ACCOUNT PayPal/Credit card/Debit card?

From memory its in the Payment section of setting and its called something like 'Funding Sources'. You just select the VCC and unselect the bank account. That will stop PayPal dipping into your bank account for funds.

Thanks, JamesNorth101 everything is clear now. None of back up options have been set so far by me so I've set "Back up funding source" to Credit card now. Hopefully done it the right way

Much appreciated for your help.

That should do the trick

When the time comes you can then pay the eBay fees directly with a VCC on eBay itself without an issue, just don't leave it too long
