Ok, so paypal are not releasing funds after 180 days on stealth account and have requested ID and proof of address. After sending in docs with the stealth account details they have failed them. Can anyone confirm if sending in genuine docs will resolve issue? Also can this cause further problems? Finally anyone else experienced this and managed to resolve? Would appreciate any advice...

I found this out the hard way earlier this year before finally getting my money released.
Only genuine docs with name and address matching those shown in the paypal account will be accepted. Don't forget you can easily change the address in the paypal account. You can also, I believe, change the name if id docs are supplied.
I suppose it all depends how much money they are holding, if a substantial amount then maybe someone will be brave enough attempt to change the account name and address to match their own genuine id and risk the *h*t storm that could result....

I sent my genuine docs in to get a release years ago when I was new this, got limited on a stealth account and they woulnd't accept the already accepted docs at 180 days.
Sent along with a solicitors letter (£150), money was released in literally twenty five minutes.

I would recommend you doing that if the value outweighs a solicitors letter definitely, why wouldn't you?
You also have no option from what I have gathered from your posts - either let them steal your money or do this method. Then the only other option, albeit a LONG drawnout process is the Financial Ombudsman, which are poor at the best of time.

I understand your reluctance to disclose details of exactly what the letter said, but your cryptic post doesn't help the op much Lol. Can you be a little bit more forthcoming?

I cant make it anymore clearer.
Are you asking me to pay for it and hold your hand and come with you?

Could you just enlight your words for me :
- You had a stealth account, then limited
They asked for docs
You tried «*stealth*» docs matching the name and they got refused
- then you sent YOUR genuine (and then with a different name..?) docs as well as a solicitor letter and they released the funds ?

I reckon a legal letter could work, maybe for a business account, eg. business name and business address, and worth it for a high balance at stake..
few wrong points here though, re being able to actually change the address and particularly the name on account once limited, no I doubt it...
this game changer has been reported on and off for a while now....it is a definite thing that is happening for UK.....

this game changer has been reported on and off for a while now....it is a definite thing that is happening for UK..... | I can confirm it was possible to change the address on a limited private paypal account because I did it earlier this year during the process of getting my money released. I doubt they could stop this as some people obviously move house whilst their accounts are limited. I assume you can also still change account name on a limited account if docs are provided to prove the name change - but I never needed to do that so cannot say for certain if possible or not on a limited account.
All this talk about the top secret solicitors letter is getting tedious now. I assume he is talking about having a solicitor draw up a deed poll so he could use his real id docs to release money. Search google for deed poll uk there is lots of info at the gov.uk website on this subject. Maybe he used a different method entirely or maybe it never happened at all though....

^^^ok, I suppose address is possible but for name was it docs for a slight change, or a deed poll for full change you mean?
Yes I was thinking the same, but deed poll is a pretty big step, would need to be 5 figure sum to even consider doing it....and I doubt these sums we are are discussing are any way near that...
