PayPal Suddenly Limited My Account
 

Hey everyone.

A few days ago I started making a lot of sales on eBay and out of sudden I tried to fulfill an order through PayPal and found out it was limited. I cannot send of receive payments.

To lift the limitation I had to submit information about some transactions I've made in the past few days.

So I sent the information and received an email saying something like this.

'' PayPal is committed to complying with and meeting its global regulatory
obligations. As part of our regulatory obligations, we regularly screen
information and payments transacting through the PayPal system. During
one of these screenings, we noticed an issue concerning a recent
transaction.

To resolve the compliance inquiry in a timely fashion, PayPal is
requesting that you provide the following information:

On XXX DATE, you sent a payment (Transaction ID) for the amount
of $xx.xx for, "X Customer" Please provide the following information:

• The date of birth for Customer

Your payment has been held until this issue is resolved. This hold
cannot be removed until PayPal receives the requested information that
will enable us to ensure our compliance with our regulatory obligations.''


I messaged the customer asking for his date of birth and of course he will never give me those details.

So I called PayPal explaining the situation and the rep told me everything was fine on my side, that the problem could be the customer. And then the rep said this case will be escalated to a senior rep and that it might take up to 5 business days to be resolved, and also said that they can't hold my account for some information that I cannot obtain. At the end of the call the rep asked If I was dropshipping? Of course I said no. The rep at ALL times was nice to me and never said that something was wrong with my activity.

The transaction that is causing this issue is a purchase I've made to a supplier with the details of the customer. So it is a Dropshipping transaction indeed.

So the fact that they are asking for the date of birth of the customer is because they know that If I am a Dropshipper I won't be able to provide it? Are they playing with me right now? Or Am I tripping lol?

What do you think and What should I do? How to get around this issue?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

As I read that they have not limited your account - it is about where the payment is going to - Paypal have a problem with that account

I buy all of my supplies from Ebay, Aliexpress and Alibaba and UK commerce sites, always pay with Paypal and have never had this problem

I've just edited the post and added more information. Yes I think it is a limitation because I cannot receive or send payments.

so you are engaging in retail arbitrage on Ebay,a customer paid you and you paid your supplier $xx.xx and ask him to ship to your customer?
Retail arbitrage is not allowed on Ebay,but does Paypal care?

I dont see why any seller would know the age of the customer,unless he told you or the two of you are related.
but what is the item,may be it should not be sold to underage buyer?

you said you made many sales recently,are they of the same category as the one which Paypal wants to know the age of the customer?
are all these sales paid for and then you use their proceeds to buy from your supplier and ask him to ship to their address?

I sold an item that has been sold many times before, not the first time.

Yes. Customer purchases the product, money then enters PayPal, and finally I order the product from the supplier with the customer's address and information.

Quite strange right?

I pay all my suppliers with PayPal. I paid the supplier many hours after I received the payment from eBay.
No it is not a prohibited product. The customer has a lot of positive feedback and does not seem to be a kid or underage.
