Default Paypal debt

Hi

I have recently been suspended and I owe Paypal a few hundred quid and also Ebay a few hundred quid. I have cancelled my direct debit with my bank, is there any way they can still take money out of my account??

Yes. Close the account and get a new bank account.

I'm sure your bank will have no problem with opening a new account with a new card. It's up to the bank though...

Hope so, as I don't really want to close the account

I presume that if you have cancelled the direct debit mandate then they would not be able to get to your money. You have cancelled the contract to allow them that access to your money, therefore it would be the banks fault for allowing any direct debit to go through. Make a note of the date you cancelled it , just in case, however I doubt that any money will be taken out by PP or ebay now it has been cancelled.

You will be looking forward to letters and phone calls from debt collection agencies, ignore the letters. If they phone you tell them you do not owe any money to PP or EBay, as they closed your accounts down, and you have no reason why they did this, therefore any monies owed is none and void - worked for me, no more phone calls

Great thanks for info. They only numbers they have for me is a mobile number, which I'm cancelling anyway, and a skype number which is due to run out soon. If they send letters or pay me a visit then my family will tell them I no longer live at the address, which is correct

Yep they suspended me and limited my paypal account for no clear reason, so they won't be getting a penny from me.
