Default Yet another Paypal Account Limited

OK I got owned by Paypal

All was fine until Paypal limited my account at £1,900, then asked for ID etc. Provided those, then after several months, got email said "Paypal appeal denied" meaning it's going to get closed.

My eBay account is fine.

I followed the ebay stealth guide for this... religiously even

Why?

Hey ggxxac,

So did you open a stealth account and provide matching documents?

You shouldn't have waited several months to get an answer from PayPal, you should have phoned them after 10 days to find out more about the delay reviewing the documents you provided them.

Hey Shady

Yes I did. Sent them matching documents yes.

I don't know how to call PayPal. My home number is already associated with my real account (yes I have real, non-stealth account that I still use). I don't want to break that as well you know. If I call them about my stealth account, but using the same home number... LINKAGE!

There was a website to spoof your phone number when you call through the Net...

So what phone numbers do you use to register your PayPal accounts?

Initially a mobile phone number, until after a few months they ask for phone verification and at that point Paypal only allowed landline numbers. I got one from soho66. I made calls to that landline number divert to my mobile, a feature from soho66.

So although i could receive calls on that landline, i couldnt dial out from that landline number. I didnt want to call from a pay as you go mobile as that would cost a lot.

Are those services available for UK?

Restart your home telephone to get a new land line number.

...By the way, don't try that, was just a little joke by me. Funny aint I!

Here is what to do.

Buy a VOIP phone and set it up for use with your soho66 numbers, you can then call from them numbers (outgoing).

Call PayPal's non-geo UK number 08707 307 191 and calls will be 1.5p a minute.

OR

Buy a new sim card, top up some credit, phone PayPal and get through to a rep. Once you are speaking to the rep, just put the phone down, they should then ring you back. I have done this many times.

First option is the best though.

get a new sim, i reccomend giffgaff for 5 pounds a month you get 60 mins but for every minute someone rings you, you get a minute free

Now the trick is to ring a call back service when your running low, when they call you keep them on the phone as long as you need.

for a tenner you get 250min's unlimited txt's and unlimited internet with no cap.

if you get someone to reccomend you, you will get a free sim with a fiver already on.

Upon reading around here it looks like I got the withdrawal limit of £1900 in the first place maybe because I didn't add a Credit Card to my Paypal account.

If I add one now, do you think Paypal will get my limited account reinstated, also removing the withdrawal limit as well?

It's a long shot I know, just wanted your suggestions.

OP in your first post you talk about 2 different things, the £1900 is one thing but you then say paypal appeal denied, so you obviously submitted some stuff to them correct? It is a long-shot to get a paypal reinstated via appeal, I would not bother, but yes, call from another phone, and in any case adding a credit card will do not anything to help....see paypal limitations section of forum for relevant posts on this....

You will have to do that anyway but they are likely to ask for documents. It's a gamble I'm afraid and I cannot offer you odds

Receiving limit*

You have to complete the steps within the resolution centre.

If you have been closed and given the 180 day. Best to move onto a new PayPal account.

Adding a CC when you first open your PayPal account would have resulted in the same information being requested by PayPal.

Sorry yes, it is Receiving Limit I mean.

The only thing I can think of which made Paypal deny my 'appeal' was I was using a variation of name and address and same passport photo (but not same passport number) as a previously limited Paypal account.

Would any of those above cause a Paypal appeal denied?
