| | | thebigfella501 | 08-19-2011 04:23 PM | Bank accounts which work with Paypal Having read loads of threads on this subject, can anyone confirm which accounts listed below work well with paypal and any which don't work or have caused problems when using a stealth account.
Natwest Basic

Halifax easycash
Halifax variable rate web saver (with dd option)
Thinkbanking
Secure Trust bank
Evolution current account
Thanks |
| Imakemoney | 08-19-2011 04:25 PM | Natwest and Halifax are the solid ones on that list :peace: |
| GrannyT | 08-19-2011 04:28 PM | Co-operative - rock solid |
| Imakemoney | 08-19-2011 04:31 PM | Cooperative are driving me mad recently....withdrawals seem to be taking ages to appear on my online banking  |
coop,no problems
natwest,brilliant:) |
| ryanba | 08-19-2011 04:51 PM | Natwest Basic - Yes
Santander Basic - Should work but I've never had this account.
Yorkshire readycash - If same as Halifax then yes it will work.
Halifax easycash - Yes
Halifax variable rate web saver (with dd option) - For a while...
Thinkbanking - Yes
Secure Trust bank - NO
Evolution current account - Never had this one. |
| Ebayorbust | 08-20-2011 12:11 AM | Santander Basic is also fine. |
| thebigfella501 | 08-20-2011 06:34 PM | How long is 'for a while' with the Halifax web saver. I know that once you open a halifax easycash you can have 5 of the web saver accounts which do have a DD option once £100 is put in the account.
Would be useful to avoid the problem of opening loads of accounts with different banks and the credit checks and red flags that would cause! |

need to add 2 to make one account. |
| no!!! | 08-24-2011 05:25 AM | So just to confirm, does the Halifax web saver accounts work?
Thanks |
| GreenBean | 08-24-2011 05:57 AM | no!!!!, no, not realistically. Have to fiddle too much. Better choices around.
What you need to do, is look for banks that allow more than one account.
Who do you use now? :) |
Any of these UK banks accept foreign registration? =) |
| GreenBean | 08-24-2011 06:56 AM | Not easily. Much the same as Australia. IDs etc, addresses.
But..... you just reminded me.Have some info on that :spy: |

Who do you use now? :) | Iam now using Natwest (8 Accounts) & Santander (3 Accounts)
So, iam wondering which banks would allow me to open a new account & still allow me to keep my other bank accounts.
Obviously they would also need to be able to do stealth DD Payments as well. |
| scrubberbytrade | 08-24-2011 09:43 AM | Hi...how many basic bank accounts can you have with one bank...tia |
GB mind sending me some info? =) |
| Squib03 | 08-25-2011 11:48 AM | What about barclays ? |

| Squib03 | 08-25-2011 01:42 PM | Anyone one know about lloyds ? |
| Roundabout | 09-03-2011 04:29 AM | i have used lloyds although it was some time ago, about 18 months ago.
i may have missed it but bank of scotland easy cash works very well and you can more than one |
| oompaloompa | 09-03-2011 04:37 AM | you can normally open at least 3 current accs per bank, before they start to ask you to justify it......I personally would not open more than that per bank |
| GrannyT | 09-03-2011 07:50 AM | :nono:Lloyds & Barclays & HSBC:nono: |
| GreenBean | 09-03-2011 08:45 AM | Follow the GrannyT! :)
The banks mentioned are not recommended.
Ideally current accounts from High Street banks work. And correctly chosen, ideal for stealth. :spy: |

| GrannyT | 09-09-2011 05:31 AM | They don't like deposits in other names - there are much better options than Lloyds. The only time I have had trouble with banks is with Lloyds |
| stufer123 | 09-09-2011 05:45 AM | OK, i have gone down the nick name route so should be OK, same surname and variation of first name> |
| ares8008 | 10-25-2011 05:17 PM | I had no problems with Barclays .After 6 ebay acc suspended and 1paypal the only thing left is the Paypal verified by Barclays current acc.Still running .No problems .The only issue i had was a couple of moths ago when i was to my country on holiday and made some payments and received payments then paypal just call me and ask me how are and what am i doing.i said no worry Iam on holiday and just made that payments. And thats all for more than 8months.
Deposits come in in 2 days not more.Never had problem. |
| alonso231 | 11-24-2011 08:36 AM | i am currently setting up a basic account with natwest. I recieved a letter which asked me to confirm the details and send it back to them so they can open up my account, but, they also asked for proof of identity (passport etc.) and my address (driving licence etc.). I set up the account under a nickname that does not match the name i have on my passport and and driving licence, (everything else matches- only my name is different). an example would be if my real name was john wilson i would setup an account under the name of jonathon marcus wilsson (change the spelling and add a middle name)
can anyone tell me if they will accept the documents as mine or should i start from scratch and give all of my real details including my name. Also, if i do use my real name, will this cause problems with paypal as i have previously been banned using my real info? I know that paypal cannot see my address through my bank account so that should not matter but it is mentioned in the stealth guide that the name on the bank account should match that of the paypal account that you set up.
However, i have also read on the forum that you can set up a real bank account with all the correct info (name, address, everything) as long as you don't put money into your paypal account from your bank account, as paypal cannot see your name or address on the bank account attached.
this topic has been discussed a number of times but i am really stuck on what would be the best solution as people are saying different things and i would love a definitive answer to what is the correct way to set up an bank account that will be used on a stealth account.
can anyone please confirm the best solution and if a natwest basic account is a good account to use with a stealth account?
Thanks |
| Callidus | 11-24-2011 09:02 AM | Surely you cannot go into any high street bank and setup a normal current account with a 'nickname' or variation of a name... every criminal under the sun would be doing that to start their laundering process...!?!!! |
| alonso231 | 11-24-2011 09:07 AM | @hdavey10
thanks for the advise mate, i just want to know whether i will get linked in anyway for using my real details on the bank account setup, and the name on the bank account not matching the name on the stealth paypal account. |
| Callidus | 11-24-2011 09:13 AM | @alonso231
If ive been reading round this forum correctly, as long as youre not adding funds to paypal from the bank account they cant see the name. As long as the card details are different.
My account was limited 6 months ago (oh im due some money from paypal soon 180 days!) anyway, i currently use the mrs paypal and everything as its quite a good account and I sell slowly but surely. To save the trouble of her keep doing bank transfers etc im going to open a joint account and put that on and remove hers but the joint account will still have my name on, which would be the same name as my limited account. I just wont deposit from bank --> Paypal. |
| GREEN LION | 11-24-2011 09:18 AM | my 2 accounts with Barclays works perfect.
about Lioyds , as one of the member here mention before , you have to ask them at the branch to do something in there system so you can receive money from pp.
for some reason they dont want to work with ebay/paypal. |
| alonso231 | 11-24-2011 09:19 AM | thanks for the advise hdavey10. i am gonna go to natwest tomorrow with all the correct docs and info and set up an account.
Just out of curiosity, do you use the same home address on your wife's account as the one that was limited on your name (sorry if i am being nosey) |
| Callidus | 11-24-2011 09:26 AM | Your not being nosey, im new here aswell but just pick up stuff trolling these forums lol.
No she has a completely different address because her account is all her real information, she got limited twice for selling vero and was reinstated twice. God knows how.
Ask a more senior member with lots more experience, im still yet to read eBay stealth |

for some reason they dont want to work with ebay/paypal. | I totally disagree with this, using Lloyds now absolutely fine havent told them to do anything and deposits are done in 2 days. |
| GREEN LION | 11-24-2011 09:43 AM | ok,but did you use your own name?or stealth name? |
| Callidus | 11-24-2011 10:07 AM | Im using my my mrs name so its a legit account, I didnt realise you meant they dont like it for stealth accounts. |
| Callidus | 11-24-2011 02:06 PM | Just signed up for a NatWest Basic Account for when I eventually get round to reading stealth.
What other types of NatWest accounts are OK to use..?
Select account? Could I open one of these as-well and work fine with stealth? |
| Imakemoney | 11-24-2011 02:27 PM | Any that accept Direct Debits.... | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 11:02 AM. | |
