Limited due to link with ex gf debt help

My Paypal was limited yesterday, now they are in the process of closing my account, due to my ex girlfriends debt with them from last year.
they have £429.33 of mine and said I will have to wait 180 days before I can claim it back, I have no idea where to go next, I am not a business, and I cannot afford to lose this money, even if for 6 months.
Am I i trouble or is there something I can do, everywhere I look it just seems doom and gloom
Please can anyone advise, or point me in the right direction.
I have no contact with my ex, we have no financial ties any more, we were never married, I have run my PayPal 100% so cannot understand their stance, they won't even discuss the reasons and have not provided me with any evidence.

the only thing I can think is we used to share the same bank and home phone number, but both of these are now in my name only!

Sorry to hear of your troubles over this paypal account.

paypal are known to make another party victim to protect themselves.

Have you any idea where the ex is?

Welcome to the forums - rough to hear about your dilemma. I hope pp won't try to take your funds to cover your ex's debt to them but have you tried calling them up?

You may just have to wait 180 days on this.

I don't see many choices with PP - they are known to make folx suffer the wait.

They have said they won't hold me responsible for the debt.

I got her to call them yesterday after they asked me to contact her.

They still want to close my account and hold onto my money for 180 days!

If they have decided to close your account then they have their reasons beyond the obvious link to your gf.

You say you have run your p/p account 100%. Have you ever payed for an item your gf bought, has she bought through your account or have you transferred funds between yours and her account?

If so then these are all reasons for them to close you down. For them its all about the risk and the probability that you are both still associated despite the fact that you say she is an ex.

They will not tell you their reasons nor will they give you an opportunity to prove otherwise and it is highly unlikely that they will change their decision.

Move on, go stealth and forget it is my advice

Just received a reply to my email i sent yesterday, here is the body of it:-

Dear Yorkie,

Thank you for contacting us in relation to the above.

We had decided to place a permanent suspension on your PayPal account and no longer provide our services to you. Upon further review, we have reconsidered our decision and restored your account to regular standing with immediate effect.

So not all doom n gloom thanks God, thanks for all the advice, have a great weekend
