Yes, it is still going. I don't use that account any more though.

GrannyT 08-18-2012 12:34 PM

I think as PP change over to the instant withdrawal they will just take a quick look. Realistically they cannot. They would need 1000s of people checking. I've had it on the last 3 withdrawlls and it has shown completed within 4 hours in all cases.

Not something to get overexcited about IMO

Unless of course you are one of those dreadful stealther type persons

Bunneh 08-18-2012 01:25 PM

I did a withdrawal yesterday at 8.30am and it still says pending..

I also find it funny how the paypal account states up to 21hours for review, but if you read the withdrawal email it says 72 hours.

Guess mine will only say completed on Monday then.

Still a much better option than 180days :pound:

LOL True to that :D

I did another withdrawal Yesterday (Saturday), to test this again and the funds are showing in my account today(Sunday), and thats with LLoyds too :cheer:

It looks like my accounts are starting to migrate on to these faster transfers.

Of my 8 withdrawals, 6 are the usual 2 days, 1 was instant and the other got this security review nonsence. Despite that the money was still in my account within a few hours.

ill second that, one account that historically take 3-4 days has completed the last withdrawals in 12 hours or less

paulhh 08-23-2012 04:11 AM

Me too!

I withdrew a large amount last week and it was in my bank account within the hour. I requested a withdrawal of a much small amount last night and I got the:

"For security reasons, we are reviewing your withdrawal request, which could take up to 24 hours. "

This is obviously an idea Paypal have just thought up to hang on to our money and circumvent the instant withdrawal system. What annoys me is that they think that the whole world is so stupid that they will not even suspect that this is just a ploy to keep funds in Paypal account rather than pass the money to its rightful owners.

When I spoke to them and pointed out that they were earning interest on money that should be rightfully mine, they actually told me that they did not earn interest. That is, at best financial negligence or incompetence or at the worst just a downright lie!

NoneOther 08-23-2012 08:56 AM

No, it is not incompetence nor a lie.

There are laws and guidelines set out under FSA regulations with regard to third party organisations that handle financial transactions that prevent them from holding client funds and earning interest from it.

All client funds are held in non interest bearing accounts, this is standard throughout the financial industry.

So p/p are probably not making anything from delaying or holding client monies, not unless they want the wrath of the FSA coming down on them.

I had this happen to me too. Been reading around and it is apparently a new feature updated to the user agreement whereby the faster payment option is now in force, without the £5.00 fees.

The old withdrawl service appears to have been removed forever now.

I am just hoping that the withdrawls will still go through to stealth details, as if it is now CHAPS, can that not be a problem for some banks?

moneyhustler88 08-25-2012 05:38 PM

just had this done today...damnnn

ctufc 08-28-2012 06:01 AM

Seems OK to me!

Just got the same message as the OP.

Done a withdrawal and soon as I clicked check the status of this transaction it read completed.

Checked my bank and the funds were there?

So seems like something to do with the faster payments set up.

I went back in and tested another withdrawal on same account, I got the same security message after typing in my withdrawal ammounts and clicked submit.

All went through fine!

mellyuk80 09-14-2012 09:30 AM

does the money still get transferred with no problems into stealth accounts ?

just had those messages when transferring out of some stealth accounts and worried these 'security checks' will mean they see the bank acc has a different name

I just recently had these on my stealth accounts with different names on the bank accounts. They all went through ok, so you should have no problems also.

they_screwed_me_too 10-10-2012 06:25 AM

a day and a half later hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

as frankie says.....................there may be trouble ahead

Status: Pending

Your withdrawal request is awaiting release for final processing, pending review by PayPal.

cortex 10-10-2012 09:08 AM

some happen faster than others.

seems bit random too...one account gave me funds on same day...then a few days later its been pending for 2 days ... odd :spy:

In both of these cases, what timeframe did the email give you for review?

they_screwed_me_too 10-10-2012 09:32 AM

mine was 4 hours

Elijah 10-10-2012 09:42 AM

That is strange then. There is an issue where the message during/after withdrawal will tell you 4 hours (or whatever) but the email will give you a different timeframe, and it turns out the the email is always correct. But if the message and the email give the same timframe, it should be that.

Don't worry about it yet. I've had this with two accounts in the last two days. One withdrawal no review, the other a 4 hour review. Got emails last night that the withdrawals are getting further reviewed for 24 hours.

Both accounts are rock solid and I am not worried (yet :d)

barton_67 10-10-2012 12:21 PM

my emails say 72 hours and thats exactly how long it takes for me unfortunatly
