| | | Campbells | 03-06-2013 01:26 AM | How to avoid 21 holds. Hey guys,
Can you share couple methods with me on how to avoid 21 day holds (US/UK accounts). I heard that positive feedback from buyer will release your money right away. Is that true? Is there any other methods as well?
Also, is there any to register UK seller account on ebay without 1$ credit card verification? Seems like I can attach my credit cards only to US accounts without being 1$ verified. |
| igotsuspended | 03-06-2013 04:29 PM | re: How to avoid 21 holds. You can't avoid fund holding unless you establish a good standing ebay account.
However, US accounts can get money releases sooner if delivery confirmed by en or buyer left a positive feedback. |
| schris142 | 03-06-2013 08:11 PM | this is strange
ive been back on ebay 10 days ive got only 2 feedback for selling 1.99 items
both of these payments got put on hold for the 21 day hold period
now ive got the feedback for them and recently ive sold something for 80 and 100 pounds and both of these the funds have been released straight away.
it seems as tho i dont have a 21 day hold anymore if tho ive only been back on 10 days |
| Callidus | 03-08-2013 03:51 AM | Sometimes it does happen like you say schris142.
However as quick as they can go , they can come back just as quick if you dont ship fast etc.
Best thing to do if you dont want holds, create accounts well in advance - make a sale and let it sit for 60-90 days and shouldnt have holds after that, this is my own personal experience. |
| igotsuspended | 03-08-2013 04:33 AM | This won't work in US. Quote:

| GreenBean | 03-08-2013 04:43 AM | @igotsuspended,
Why don't you think it could work for the USA?
Be interesting to hear

:ranger: | Cause' it's my personal experience. 6 months old account, several sales for few grands but still holds except limits increased. |
| they_screwed_me_too | 03-08-2013 11:10 AM | @davey
ive just listed on 3 accounts created and fully pp verified in october
will report back to you when i get some payments in |
| Elijah | 03-08-2013 11:19 AM | You need to wait 90 days after your first sale and this should apply to all accounts. If this isn't the case for you then I can only assume that PayPal put the hold back on some time after that.
tsmt, edit the listing and look under the payment address section... if it mentions holds then you have holds. If it only mentions that funds settlement "may be delayed", you have no holds. |
| they_screwed_me_too | 03-08-2013 11:23 AM | thanks Elijah i use a bulk listing tool so i dont usually see the inner workings but thats a nice tip
and something i didnt know
im some expert eh |
| they_screwed_me_too | 03-08-2013 11:34 AM | well no holds on the first one yayyy
well well well |
| Callidus | 03-08-2013 03:54 PM | Good advice eh?! |
Hit and miss if you dont wait the 90 days |
| Mutant | 03-10-2013 03:39 AM | I hate the holds.
I can't sell unless I can withdraw the money before I ship. Also finding an account that's an 04 with unlimited selling allowance helps too.
Shifted all my stock in a few days and withdrawn.. |
| slim jim | 03-10-2013 02:23 PM | Re: How to avoid 21 holds. Its going to be tough to sell with that plan |
| Stigger | 03-13-2013 05:02 AM | Not sooooooooo long ago
i used to just keep adding and removing bnk account every withdrawal to make the limits alot less limitess if ya know what i mean.
Sometime get the odd one held as oppose to getting the odd one released.
ones that get held you can get released 3 days after sending it wether its been delivered or not as long as you have tracking.
Do see the point in them if you can get round them so easy anyway  |
| gigabyt3r | 03-13-2013 05:30 AM | What do you mean? |
| Stigger | 03-13-2013 05:48 AM | What do you mean what do i mean.
What do you think i mean.
i might talk in riddles but com'on its obvious. |

why dont people just prepare their accounts to sell for 3 months or more,
sell and get feedback up, sell stuff you do not need the money for low value stuff. What is the hurry. |
| Stigger | 03-15-2013 06:43 AM | What is the point of 21days HOLD.
Whoever has any MONEY held for more then 3days are not doing it correctly.
i have said in a good few threads.....you send the item...keep the tracking....Contact ebay 3 days after you SENT the item and funds will be released REGARDLESS of if they have been DELIVERED or NOT.
Some packages i send around the world can take 5-10 days to reach the destination......The money is usually released well before the items reach there destination.
i mean in the u.k under the old system...It used to take 3-4 sometimes more days for you money to reach the bank
Now it take you 3 days for PP to release it and 2-3 hours to reach the bank.
Whats so bad ? |
| Bunneh | 03-15-2013 10:15 AM | Actually this isnt correct, on several occasions and several accounts,
I have submitted tracking to paypal and they have said the tracking has to show as delivered for 3 days, so they can check the post office matches the region on the buyers address. |
| danshan | 03-15-2013 11:15 AM | Elijah,
I have a question where can you look in the listing to see if it has holds or not? Like specifically I could not find either one of the things you said in the edit listing screen? Guide me guide me please |

Well it is for me so all i can say is somethings wrong becuase it worked for my accounts....last time was around febuary.
Point out the email where it states the item must be sent ...
In the email no mention of delivery or in any of there t.c's
Once i pointed that bit out .... they started releasing my money....regardless of if delivered or not.
another thing that might help is if you attach a copy of the recipt with the tracking no and address when you send your email . |

| danshan | 03-16-2013 11:15 AM | thank you I will take a look |
| suomis.ima | 03-20-2013 04:17 AM | Just a quick question guys. Is that true that PP 21 days hold isn't exist to items listed on ebay.co.uk? |

Holds apply for the UK accounts.
Wait until paypal uk gives you a rolling reserve to deal with as you try to trade.
:ranger: |
| Stigger | 03-23-2013 10:05 PM | remove bnk account when PP account created.....as per savers.
Add to withdraw and remove....leave off till want to withdraw..rince and repeat for a litte more time. |

Should you (risk a) call, you say Hello, my user name is xxxxx I have my shipping details of the item posted 3 days. Please input into the system. Thank you for that and thank you for releasing my funds...
Words similar to the above.
That bank account is a UK trick. Not useful for Canada.

What do you say? You state you shipped the item, here is tracking, and hope that they release funds. Happens that they will say you have to wait for it to be delivered though |

It doesn't sound very likely ebay will release just after 3 days, that would make the 21 day hold pointless..
Thanks. |

Thanks. | The holds are placed by eBay. Anyway, they are the same now but different division. My holdings are mostly released by the end of second day after delivery confirmed. | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 06:53 AM. | |
