PayPal asking for more information

Hi,

I managed to get a PayPal account setup last year using a different name etc. Managed to verify it a couple of weeks ago using a new bank but didn't know anything about the £2500 yearly limit on it before you have to provide PayPal with more details about yourself.

I've provided them with everything apart from the bit where I actually need to verify my details lol. The account is in a different name and I know from experience when you submit that information and it is wrong they will quickly ask for things like ID etc.

I'm guessing they do a credit check of some sort to verify your name etc.

Any way of getting past this? It would be a shame to lose this account seeing as I used a new bank account on it. I've got 133 days left to provide them with the details, but I only have about £500 receiving limit before they limit it anyway.

If you are on the countdown, you will need to provide them with what they are asking for.

Usually a driving license and utility bill. It must match your account details exactly. Theb you better hope and pray that they pass.

Lots of issues with paypal uk at the moment. It is a bad time for stealth.

that's new... so have they Increased this now they are 'free from ebay'

or is the yearly limit still £1950...

Still £1900 or whatever random amount they put on each account (£1953.05)...

thing is the OP might have been thinking of EU2500.

Hope he can clarify what platform he is using for sure.

Why avoid DL? From memory options are DL, Passport, National ID or Government ID.

Interested to hear why one would be weaker than the other

It won't be because any of them are weaker, the driving licence would be much more difficult to 'create' because of the layout and the security details within real driving licences

Account is not limited, they are just advising me to confirm my personal details - which there is no point me confirming because none of it is real. I have 130 days to do this otherwise they will limit my account - at the moment I am still able to withdraw funds to my bank.

They said I have reached 1800euros in the last year, and it's getting close to the 2500 euros I am allowed to have, or something similar.

This is the message I get when going into paypal:

And if it makes any difference at all, I don't use eBay, I only use paypal to receive payments from web design clients.

This is normal for paypal when you are reaching, or have passed, the EU Money Laundering Limits. If you complete the form online with your stealth details, it will fail. Do it a second time, and it will fail. Then you will have to upload Documents as Proof of Identity.

Just fill it in same as the details you created paypal/eby in and get ready to provide id

when you get to this point, you need to be creative and knowing how to use an editing program like Photoshop Gimp, snag it really helps.

Failing that there are people around that could help you.

One thing to really note here , is if the last name on the paypal account matches the one on the card you add to the account and the post code matches up, then it passes this point.

It does not mean you wouldn't have to provide id at a later date though.

I assume op is referring to the VCC attatched to paypal?

ive never had the PP "online id check' pass even with a 'confirmed vcc' attatched in paypal.... always fails and requests docs?

It would need to be a bank issued card so technically the account would not be fully stealth.

majority of stealth accounts are not true stealth anyway.

I mean most Paypal (Stealth accounts) have a bank accounts attached that links them to the real person so adding a cards neither here or there.
