Lifting PayPal sending limit

I have a PayPal account I use just for buying, all registered under my real info and linked with an eBay.

PP have just informed me that I need to confirm my card to lift the sending limit as I'm getting close. I try to lift the limit but it instead asks me to add & confirm a bank account rather than a card.

Is there a away around this? I use a VCC to checkout every time. Unable to add a bank account as I don't have any that haven't been (or aren't already being) used with either previous suspended accounts or active stealth accounts.

Am I really going to have to open a new bank account just for this?

Yes you need to VERIFY the account with a UK bank account and then CONFIRM the card after the bank account has been added.

NO way around this unfortunately.
