Is this normal? PayPal 21 day hold...
 

Hi

I have been using one of my stealth accounts now for over 3 months and the paypal is fully verified with all limits lifted. When I sell a product that I have been selling for a month or so I receive the payment instantly without having to wait for the paypal 21 day hold. However I listed a new product last week and I have a 21 day hold on all payments from them. Is this normal? I've had no complaints on both my ebay and paypal so I'm just a little confused as to why this is happening.

Yes it normal, if u sell an item for an ammount you dont normmaly sell then they will do the hold.

had this myself so i would say perfectly normal.

I noticed this happening a few months ago, as soon as sales jump paypal has been adding another 60 days probation period with the 21 day hold. And they have a meter with your progress so you can see when the 60 days is completed.

On new accounts the first 3 months i usually sell very light no more than $700 over the 90 days. Than once the holds are lifted i start selling and its usually 2-3K i like to do on the 4th month. But now ill get that 4th month in of sales with instant payments and than each account now gets the notification in paypal and they add an additional 60 days

Thanks everybody for your great help! Such a damn shame that paypal do this but I can live with it definitely...Time to wait another 60 days I guess

I think what PayPal has started to catch on is those who wait for the 21 day holds to fall off then try to pull a "fast one" with a large amount.

Ah fair enough, I do understand why they would do this because there are some people out there that would sell thousands worth of items and run off with the money...In my case its only about £80 and i've got the 21 day hold haha

You don't have to wait the full 21 days. Have a read of the post I made below on the ways you can reduce that to about 5 days (or in some cases less)
