Message from strange man.

Hi to everyone!
One man sent message to me via ebay. He asks me to remove one item cos copyright owned by individual in the United States. He also wrote that reported about it to ebay. As I've understood copyright owner not this man. Probably he just a competitor, I don't know.
If he report to ebay about my item and he is not right owner - will ebay remove my listing?
Thanks!

Yes, they will.

Usually if it's a competitor they won't contact you personally they'll just report it

They may first ask for proof that he owns the rights or they may not it all depends

Might be worth providing evidence to eb you have the right to sell

They can remove your listing - they can also not do anything - all depends on the truth of the claim

They can remove the listing, but that does not mean that they will

Time will tell

Chances are, that is a competitor as you mention.

Once they used the "report item" link, it (more than likely) initiates a request to ebay to review the listing. Ebay would then review it and if it finds evidence of any violations, you will get an email notifying you of whatever infraction they found you violated.

I highly doubt one complaint from one buyer would prompt ebay to remove your listing. There has to be some sort of evidence of a violation in your listing (otherwise that report item link would be too powerful & we'd all be using it to take down the competition).

However, you now need to tread a bit more carefully. Maybe let that account cool down and sell more on another stealth account.

Check back this account afterwards. You don't want to ignore it and continue selling on this account frivously. This would allow other buyers to initiate more complaints.

More complaints --> more ebay bots checking on you --> MCxxx --> suspension/limitation

Thanks to all. I've removed this listing.
