| LuckyShim | 11-24-2014 07:05 PM | Similar Items without Brand Name? What do you guys think about selling items that are very similar or even meant to be replicates of brand name items but the only difference is that they don't have the logo on them? |
| Dmshark25 | 11-25-2014 03:21 PM | Re: Similar Items without Brand Name? It's against ebays policy, your not allowed to,sell replicates, so it would not last even to the point of one sale sometimes |

| jeffweico | 11-26-2014 12:33 AM | Re: Similar Items without Brand Name? The major problem is that it is difficult to advertise it. You can't use phrases such as "looks like the Rolex Submariner" per eBay's rules. Invicta watches look like brand names sometimes, but they get away with it.
So, it CAN be done, but you have to be very careful in how you go about it. And some things won't fly at all. If you were to copy Coach's design for their purses but not say it was Coach, your listings will still be removed. Ditto for sunglasses that look like Oakley's, etc. |

| muzzie | 02-13-2015 01:58 PM | Re: Similar Items without Brand Name? Obvious replicas of know products are high-risk and you will get suspended for that. Generic iphone cases are ok, but something that looks like an iphone, but has no "iphone" or "apple" brand on it still will get banned, as not only a brand name (word), but a physical design is also a subject of owner rights issues. I suggest selling only obvious things that are not repeating anything well-known. If you want to sell, say, China GoPro charger, make sure that original one has different design. |

These ebay monsters are immune for suspensions, but still they are facing issues with their items removed for violating ebay policies. |

Avoid ever listing them |
| muzzie | 02-14-2015 03:47 AM | Re: Similar Items without Brand Name? All iphone cases available on ebay are usually bought from wholesalers at Ali. These wholesalers are selling these cases at ebay as well. Are they VeROs for these generic cases? I just cant understand how there can be a VeRO for a piece of plastic or rubber. |

| GreenBean | 02-14-2015 07:05 PM | Re: Similar Items without Brand Name? varies between the platforms, muzzie.

| james13v | 07-03-2015 08:24 PM | Re: Similar Items without Brand Name? I see MANY watch part accounts, with long time sellers, with huge sales, selling aftermarket parts, that are exactly like the real part, but no logo. Sometimes they even have a logo. Their accounts are still going strong, for quite awhile now. | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 05:54 AM. | |
