USPs Package lost but delivered, what to do ?

I ordered something from AMAZON, USPS indicates it was delivered yesterday.
But I was at home all day yesterday, kept looking into my mail box, the package is not there, only a few letters. I went to my local post office today, they said they will try to allocate it for me, but so far no luck.

What can I do now ? If I file an A-Z claim to AMAZON, will they take the case even if USPS shows delivered but I did not receive the item?

Is there a way to have USPS post office to change the tracking info to say "Package Lost" ? Because this is the "truth", the fact is I did not receive the package while I was at home all day watching, waiting for it . the package was delivered to some otheer unknow places and not to me ?

ANy advices ???

I think I know what happened. Was only delivery confirmation used? :violin:

ALWAYS, ALWAYS use SIGNATURE confirmation and insurance. I have friends that lost thousands by not doing so for being cheap, instead of wasting a few dollars.

most likely the postal person delivered to same address number but different street name..

Yes, only delivery confirmation used. Is there any options I have to claim this loss to AMAZON seller ?

If it was from Amazon Only and NOT from another seller on Amazon then they may send out a replacement as a courtesy and take the lost. I doubt that would happen if the item is expensive. It probably depends on the Customer service rep you talk to at Amazon, you might get a nice easy Rep that will apologize and ship you another one or some PITA (Pain in the A*S) Rep that will say Tough Luck.

If all else fails, you can always file a Dispute on your Credit Card if you paid that way.

Yea was it from Amazon or from a seller? I think if it was a seller that maybe you've been scammed. They probably sent a letter with delivery confirmation to somewhere in your zip code area so it looks like it has been delivered. I would talk to seller and see. Was it a new seller as well?

Ouch..

At least with my endicia postage I can prove the address the postage/delivery was sent to

Yea maybe I should use that service. So I don't get burnt.

I don't find that signature confirmation is worth it even at $1.95 discounted...if you ship 20 things a day then that $40 a day will quickly add up to cover whatever fraud/loss you receive...I only do it on things that cost me >$100

i think its funny how people never seem to consider the idea or possibility that maybe the person who was supposed to deliver it simply didnt? if signature confirmation wasnt used. then there is nothing to stop the person thats supposed to deliver it, from simply keeping it. believe it or not, the ups is one of the most common industries of internal theft. because their is a ton of extra side money to be made if you have that job. similar to cops making evidence money disappear before it goes into evidence, or judges taking bribes, or doctors selling off prescription medications or lawyers putting together a bogus slip and fall law suit. this stuff doesnt just happen in movies, people in these positions take advantage of their jobs each day to make a little money on the side. its a possibility. i know its happened to me.
