Default Shipping & tracking orders

Starting tomorrow, Amazon.com is instituting metrics for shipping & tracking that require that 95% of all of your items be shipped within two days.

And if not, they are going to start weeding you out.

This of concern to anyone else?

Seems that Amazon is requiring that tracking be scanned in and reported from one of the shipping sources they approve of, be it Fed Ex, UPS, USPS or a few others. And each and every item needs to be registered with one of those in two days.

I need wiggle room still for some of my stuff.

Anyone have any ideas on how to fob off this system of tracking & shipping?

Thanks!

And when someone comes into this site asking for help on how to put up a stealth account, do you give them a lecture on how Amazon is dead set against this?

Or any number of Amazon rules that are broken by the people in this forum...?

If you don't have anything to contribute to my question, why comment?

Look buddy, amazon don't want drop shippers, people who don't hold stock. They want professional sellers who run a professional business, thats why the metric is included.

Stealth is easy to setup, rules are broken doing it but then you have to work within the rules amazon make to maintain your account.

If you can't do that especially with the new metric you will be closed.

There is no way around it, as the customer wants the tracking number to watch the delivery of there product. If the customer does not get the product with the timescale promised they will complain.

However the only way I can see to to extend shipping times is change your shipping location.

They also don't want people with multiple accounts.

How are you a "professional" if you are running multiple stealth accounts?

You are abrogating the rules, just like everyone else. Come down from your lofty place among the rest of the stealthy, friend...

But changing the shipping location is also a good idea. I have another. Looking for anyone else who wishes to contribute.

Basically I can run my accounts within the parameters amazon define. Thats why I classify myself and other sellers who can do this as "professional".

People who cannot have to adapt or die.

A very constructive answer, if you have nothing contribute why bother. The problem is people possible like you cannot accept amazon make the rules, its there business and if you have to ship in 2 days with tracking, thats it end of story.

I see it as a simple thing to do. If your drop shipping or you have your own stock. Amazon allows you to set your own shipping time frame per product. So if you can't ship some items within 2 days change those to 3 or 4 or 7 or 30. Amazon only cares that you do as you say. So that customers know what to expect before they order.

It doesn't say that They do not require tracking on small items shipped First Class It also doesn't say you have to ship in 2 days You can still change your handling time to ship later

Tracking Numbers Now Required for 95% of Shipments
Nov 13, 2015

Beginning February 2016, Amazon will require you to provide valid tracking numbers for at least 95% of your shipments. You will not need to provide tracking for freight shipments, or for items shipped in Standard Mail or First Class Mail envelopes (e.g. screen protectors, greeting cards).

You can view your Valid Tracking Rate by going to Seller Central > Performance > Customer Satisfaction > Account Health.

Providing tracking on your orders offers many benefits. We've seen that orders with valid tracking have significantly reduced defect rates, better feedback ratings, and fewer messages from customers related to "Where's My Stuff." All major carriers, including USPS, FedEx, UPS, and DHL, provide tracking numbers for free, so the feature is available to you at no additional cost.

Learn more about Valid Tracking Rate and the full benefits of adding tracking numbers to packages.

Don't think this applies in the Uk or does it!, people selling cheaper things are never going to want to send items with tracking given the cost of that over here.

Mickey is one of the most helpful person in this forum.
Look. people run multi account doesn't mean those people tend to cheat, just in order to give themselves a backup in amazon business.
doing amazon need to be patient, dedicated and honest, of course, amazon still may close you down even you do everything properly, but this is the only way which you can last long.

Unfortunately, I sell in a category that they do not allow changes to the ship lead time. Every other category is allowed this but what they call the BMVD - books, movies, videos, dvd.

They consider this is a high risk category because of the risk of counterfeits, especially DVDs...and so much so that they locked most sellers out of selling DVDs for which they could not show some sort of chain of purchase to a reputable source. Only for Amazon.com, though. And I suspect this was because Hollywood has increasingly become dependent on Amazon to sell their wares, and when counterfeits were flooding into Amazon, they weren't making their nut. And thus, put pressure on Amazon to stop letting people sell them without stringent rules. I can't imagine another reason, but there may be one.

As for Taking the Micky...he might be helpful, but I have also seen him on at least three occasions scold new sellers who ask questions because they were asking things that were already covered. Someone who is "new" is asking because they obviously have not seen or understand how to maneuver as do the people who are the furniture for this forum.

As for your "professional" status...that is hilarious. So you ship everything in two days. That makes you a "professional"? Are all the accounts you run in your name? What elaborate VPN schema do you have in place to foil Amazon's bots? You lurk in the shadows, pal. Just like the rest who bend Amazon's rules to do what it is we do. Reality check, perhaps.

If people cannot search a forum for answers where most of the answers are what chance have they in the future for there business. Research and knowledge is valuable rather than the lazy option of just do a post. Unlike your question, this is a new question and people will look for answers.

My methods are of no concern of yours, but all the answers are all within this forum. I am like many other "experienced sellers" on this forum have traded with amazon for several years with accounts that are several years old without problems. I still run an account which was my original ghost account which is well over 10 years old and over 1m feedback.

No Rosie, this is a US thing. Within the UK I cannot see this happening as we have to pay for tracking and would make selling small items like DVD's CD's etc impossible, whereas in the US tracking comes FOC

So then, if you wished to continue this drop shipping, it would stand to reason that if you then told Amazon your main shipment location was Canada or the UK or Germany, you would be out of the two day shipment.

Yes?

taking the micky...yes, wonderful that you have your first account. very professional.

let's let amazon settle it...shall we?

you tell them that you are using ⊗⊗⊗⊗ names, vpns to mask your ip and selling on multiple accounts...and see if they give you a gold star or throw your ass off amazon so fast it makes your head spin.

you are breaking their rules, period. that's all there is to it.

whether one rule or another, still breaking the rules, and rules that would see you kicked off their site if that evidence surfaced. high horse. down. come. bye.

Who knows, who really cares. Search amazon's amazon's help pages and accurate the answers will be there. Don't you realise amazon don't want drop shippers. They want people who want to invest in stock and hold it in there warehouses.

I am not stupid off course they would. But if stealth is run correct they will never know and they are happy to get their profits.

It seems however you have an account, stealth I bet and now you are complaining that you cannot play to their rules. As I said adapt or die and amazon aren't bothered on either outcome, only you.

Yes, adapt or die. I don't have a problem with Amazon, or them doing whatever it is that they do.

I do, however, have a problem with someone who sees themselves as some sort of beacon of honesty, and looks down their nose at others when their hands are as dirty. And who knows, possibly more.

I came on here looking for help. That is what this forum is for. Not for some imbecile who can't spell to offer me life lessons.

If you don't have positive things to contribute, shut up. Ignore the post.

This isn't the first time that I have taken note of your snark. How resplendent you must feel, all "professional" and whatnot...how lovely for you.

Feel free to pass on commenting anymore. I absolve you, oh emperor of everything.
