Cloning hard drives along with user account and cookies ok?

I want to clone my hard drive now and move onto another hard drive. You think it's okay as if nothing happened? I'm thinking all my user accts, cookies and flash cookies would be intact so I wouldn't have limitations or suspensions and all that. I'm thinking that the hard drive should be used right away so that the cookies don't have conflicting time information. What do you guys think?

In always wary if a new plan. Just trying to ask if anyone experienced this and all went well, nothing went wrong for PayPal to limit you or trip some mc999 in eBay or anything.

This has nothing to do with Paypal or Ebay. You are cloning a machine with OS and all the user data.
The ouside world (on the web) there will be no difference at all if, as you said, you will use it right away so there will be no conflict between informations.

But if you are looking for someone who experienced it, that's not me. Sorry

Don't get me wrong icarletto. I appreciate the info. In theory it should work. There might be other things in play I'm just careful of. For example, one time I cloned a Hard drive with Facebook already logged in, saved and everything, but then when I tried the new cloned hard drive, it asked me to login again. This was a while ago. I was like wtf?

No problem glacier922, I understand your concern. The problem could be the way you clone the HD.
Never do it inside Windows. Always use a boot program that really copy the OS properly when it is not started if my wordings are right.
I generally use "ghost" or other dos based programs on a bootable media (like "Hiren's boot CD"... have a look on the Google).

I'm actually doing it right now. I use acronis 2010. I'm cloning an xp os so the outdated software shouldn't be a problem. Done this many times before but this is delicate since it involves money and all.

Maybe someone on the forum could help if has experience with Acronis 2010.

Is the backup done inside windows or not?
I do not know much about 7 or 8 but for Xp I am pretty sure it makes difference.

Makes logical sense - dont necessarily need to clone either...you can browse and bid to build cookies

Well I understand the concern of the OP who wants to keep his whole browsing history so far.

Acronis is a software that you run while running e windows, and it just creates a large file that is archived which is basically an image of your hard drive. Then you can stick whatever hard drive you want, open acronis, and tell it where to dump that image, in this case the hard drive you want to move over. Works great for me because whenever I want to reinstall my windows, I use a cloned state where I just installed windows with all drivers, then I don't have to keep looking for all those drivers.

Need to alwasy keep at the back of your mind that a different computer being used may flag an account.

Consequences might be unfavorable too.

I havent had because I ease my accounts into sales again...I dont just jump in.

I use both my laptop and desktop to do work and both pcs have stealths users accounts. Last summer I upgraded my desktop slow and outdated hard drive with a Solid State Drive aka SSD and boy my desktop is faster than ever before. Boot up in under 20 secs and open different users, surf the web and access information lighting fast. Also SSD from Samsung have cloning software included. But I just did a fresh restore and installed my trusty window 7 (best for stealth) don't ever use window 8.... Trust me it was a nightmare to create new users acc. The trick is to build up cookies in your new computer. I usually use my laptop to list items and then log into my desktop when it is time to process labels. Over time your desktop will have enough cookies to be independent.

Oh no I would never login with another computer. Way too risky. I've just cloned my hard drive, all looks good. Went into my account, all the automatic login info was there which means all cookies are intact, even withdrew some money from PayPal, all is good.

Only when I need to change the computer FOR GOOD - I dont do random logins - if I change computer, I stick with the computer
