I wish I still had all my old cards! I used to have literally thousands with hundreds of them being the 'rare shiny' type.

Would of been a rich kid James! Those ones from the 90's are worth a lot now. So google created this games? It seems to be a sick game like pedophile and little kids type of sick.

I thought the cards depreciated HEAVILY - I don't think the old cards retained all of their old glory value....right? If I'm wrong....it's $ time....

Google helped with initial development (mainly integrating with Google Maps) but Google is not the app developer. The app developer is a company called Niantic, which I'm assuming is a collaboration of The Pokemon Company and Nintendo.
I'm so sick of hearing about this stupid game. It was on literally EVERY news program/radio show I listened to yesterday, and today.
There's a lady in the next town over from me who's having a f***ing fit because her house is a "gym" and random people are showing up to battle constantly.

We have reports of this in the UK as well
There must be a way to make money off it sometimes if your house turns into a gym. Maybe give out medals?!

Over here there have been some savvy entrepreneurs capitalizing by posting on Facebook about the location of a rare Pokemon, then robbing anyone who shows up at gunpoint.

Only the two of us collected the early cards.
Some advantage to being a hoarder!

@miketyson, I stand corrected - some cards still have high value. The issue is that way back EVERYONE would collect the cards so there is a huge amount available. I went on eBay and while some sell, there are many overpriced cards sitting around.
@phaz0rz, hah there was a guy on the news today complaining how his house is a pokemon gym and cars keep blocking his driveway so he can't leave without shooing ppl away.
The random robberies might increase...

I really really really like the concept of kids no longer staying home all day to play video games, they have to go out into the big wide world to accomplish goals - as you have to do in the real world.
But I don't like how over hyped this game is, and how people of all age groups are not acting their age when they start running like maniacs because there is an elusive Pokemon waiting around the corner. Any random person would run along with them thinking there was something more exciting going on.
