Have a look at Halifax online Mortgages Rosie, that will tell you how much you can borrow based on your deposit, I don't think the rules change for where you live, but the house prices surely do, so...

Mortgage's are around 90-95% Loan to Value now, so James is right, a 5, 10 or 15% deposit is fine. We are saving £15,000/£20,000 between us for around a £200,000 house. Where I live that's a 4 or 5...
