I need to post an inflatable water slide to an address in Italy, boxed up as it will be when I get it delivered to me later today, it will measure about 70cms square. Of course these things are not the lightest of items either. Parcel2go, MyHermes, and UPS seem to be saying it is to big for them to handle which seems ridiculous, so anyone know what other options are available to get this thing delivered? From UK of course.

Are you confident the buyer understands postage will be uber expensive?
Is it an older ebay account or new?
Geeze, I would think twice about posting to Italy. |

What about FedEx? DHL? Yes it will pricier but buyer needs to be aware about paying the shipping...unless you have already sold it and decided to absorb shipping on your own end? :(

I previously sent one to Croatia but that was through the Global Shipping Programme and was relatively cheap, this time it is not through the GSP, so it really is potentially over £100 to send an item like this to Europe is it? That was a price on one site, if that is the case it's simply going to have to be cancelled and refunded.

GSP was relatively cheap for Croatia compared to Italy? Wow

Smallish ones of these are about £130 without postage.
I think I would work out how to cancel..... |

Yes that is the point I am at with this item now GB, been in touch with the buyer and asked them to cancel it from their end but they are struggling with doing that, replied twice that they cannot find an option on eBay Italy to cancel their order.
You are definitely right about difficulties of absorbing the size of the delivery cost in my selling costs, I had no idea that without using eBay's Global Shipping Programme artificially reducing shipping costs it literally does cost about £100 to send an item of the size and weight of this to Europe.

The real cost is incurred by the buyer who has paid ebay for all the delivery costs from UK to their country + any customs fees. |

IF buyer is having problem cancelling order, you could just refund the payment and open a "Cancel transaction" case on eBay and have the buyer agree to cancel - that way you get the FVF back...

With all due respect,Rosie, why did you allow a bid from Italy for this item?

GSP is extortionate with custom fees !
And whats worse is you cannot combine on multiple items with it.
If you refund the buyer BEFORE you cancel the case on ebay, it will automatically close when you choose to cancel the sale.
Just need to give ebay a few minutes between each action to register.

it is the inflatable part that makes it worse....those are difficult goods for punctures after first use, or assembly issues anyway domestically.....Italy I have had generally good experience for small items, it can just be a bit slower....
