Activity: 3% Longevity: 70% | | Selling high ticket items to new ebayers.
So im selling some ipads here. ive pocketed about 500$ so far but over 70% now of my winners are new ebay users. I refuse to ship to them and refund the their money right alway. I have been alerted by paypal a few times that the charges were not authorized so im glad I dont ship to these new ebayers. Some want me to ship to fedex locations, cousins house, etc. ya right.
Some might be legit, maybe a few feedbacks but they have been on ebay for years. eBay and paypal info matchs. I still cancel these guys as I dont want to take a chance. Ive canceled 9 auctions so far. Its a pain.
Is there anyway to be safe and ship to a low feedback ebayer that seems legit? Ive never had an issue but I dont want a charge back. Am I safe as long as I ship to their paypal confirmed address?

Actually, if you have signature confirmation (you can add insurance at your own cost if you want it to be safer for expensive items), and provide it to PP if there's chargeback, usually you'll win the case. Just make sure it's to confirmed address and transaction is eligible for protection.
That's what one buyer did to me, I provided the signature confirmation #, I was protected under the seller's protection.
Some buyers have been on EB for years but they just don't buy much. My friend only bought like 9 items in the 6 years he was on EB.

Legit ebayer for 13 years. If I ever run into a problem and need to call paypal, could I get linked if I needed to provide them any info? like tracking etc.

If you didn't use any of your real info, just give them whatever's on the stealth account if they ask.
In my exp with them, they usually asked me for my name and phone number I registered the account with then proceed to help me with the case.

Some people sign up for eBay, just so they can bid on your auction. Its not a bad thing, but I can see your concern with new eBay users. However, no need of missing out on potential customers. Its apart of the game.

If they are fully verified then it might be ok to sell. I've had zero feedback buyers and so far so good. I won't though sell/ship to unverified addresses, way too many problems.

you can block any users by feedback that I know of. Ive checked and triple looked for these settings on ebay but cant find them. I could only find how to block usernames, but its too late if they use buy it now.

@user3657 - are your problems mainly with international buyers? You can select what countries you will ship to besides USA...

OP, be careful with canceling sales as you still can receive the worst feedback possible.
You HAVE TO ship iPads with signature confirmation because they are higher than $250. If you get a chargeback, you'll be protected by seller protection if you submit tracking number when pp asks for it. However, too many cases and pp put a reserve on your account and/or limit it.
Been there...done that... |

What the heck. I just checked my buyer requirements and all it says is:
none
Can you no longer choose requirements for your buyers???

You can open a cancel transaction case but it still depends on whether they agree to it. They can decline.
If you simply refund with no cancel transaction, you don't get back your eBay fees and you can lose out a lot if you get a lot of these.
So I'm wondering how you deal with such things.
Thanks.

BubbleTeea - I don't know. I don't have problems with those people anymore. I think like two years ago I used to see more unconfirmed addresses but now it's rare. Of course, I may be forgetting to check.
I used to always just ship to them. I never had any problems.
As far as 0 feedback buyers if they buy something that somewhat costs more I just ship it. I don't know how expensive we are talking about here though.

I too don't have a big problem with unconfirmed addresses and I just ship to them and it's mostly fine too.
I do check up on the people who have unconfirmed or unverified addresses; I check their feedback and if they have many good feedback as a buyer, then I feel secure.
I have never sold expensive items to zero feedback but that's by chance and not deliberate, since I have only ever sold 1 expensive item, but it was really expensive and fortunately went well.
I mostly just ship to 0 feedback too.
