Activity: 0% Longevity: 56% | | Just got back on Amazon Seller Central. Should I wait to list?
Just curious.. should I just begin listing slowly? Or relax, wait a few days maybe order something first? Its a brand new account so I wasn't sure how I should play it out. Any ideas appreciated! |
The complete step-by-step guide to get back to selling today!

The idea is to act like someone that genuinely just opened a new account.
Someone brand new to amazon isn't going to create a seller account and list an item the same day they create the account.
If you've had this amazon account for a while and used it to purchase several items over the last couple months, you won't have any issues creating the seller account and listing an item immediately. Just don't sell a high risk item immediately, start low risk ALWAYS (this goes for all marketplaces)
If its a completely brand new account, build some history on it first by browsing the site, saving some items, wish listing others, messaging buyers questions etc.
Patience will pay off |

If its a completely brand new amazon account, start off with some browsing history for a week or so. Then create the seller account and do some more browsing. Wait another week or so before listing a low risk item. Get some feedback/sales with low risk items before moving onto the higher risk items etc.
Its all about the baby steps

Elmono, why would someone go to the trouble of creating a seller account and not sell anything for while???? The whole reason someone creates a seller account is to sell something.
Anyway Jboone, my advice, start selling straight away, keep it low volume, chase customers for feedback and keep your metrics green. Imagine you have planted a seed, watch it grow each week and by end of July you will have a good amazon account.
Good luck

Good luck | I create 100's of accounts and rarely have issues after the review. I'm only giving my opinion. If you like creating an amazon account and listing an item for sale the same day its created, go for it |

@jboone733 take it easy browse a few items maybe buy a thing or two if you want. When you do sell make sure 100% that the items are not high risk i.e dvd's or other items that are susceptible to counterfeits otherwise they will boot you out right away.
Sell slowly build the feedback and account up is the way to go.

Amazon looks at pattern of sales so definitely do not right away list same items from banned accounts.

Technically speaking rsot they can't really link you like this as they are not 100% sure it's the same person. They have to be certain.
But good to be wise so I like your logic

@ Elmono it's because there's no damn PayPal involved. That's what I like about Amazon and the fact it's the worlds biggest e-commerce website. There growth since they started out just selling books in 1995 is phenomenal!

Yes jesus paypal is such a headache..
Well I feel like I am walking on a thawing lake. Its such a weird feeling selling again (but great all the same) I am staying FAR away from media as thats what I did me in before. I am sticking with one niche with this account and have reworded every listing to make it not even close to my old wording (perhaps paranoia lol).
Im working on building it up slowly. With what Im selling I don't expect to have any red flags or any snags. Still I dread checking my email everyday expecting to see my privileges have been revoked. Hopefully after a week or so I will chill out here.

Nothing works out brand new or old account.in my 10 years i have learnt its all about what items you sell... sell used books and you will be fine sell dvds or electronics they gonna watch you closer.first 3 months of any account is like in icu..waiting 2 weeks for payment is pain in ass
Good Luck!!!!

But good to be wise so I like your logic | Dude what do you know. RSOT is 100% correct. If a seller has one product no chance of linking, if that same seller lists the same 100 items he will be linked and suspended/deleted.Why because no one else is selling the identical stock file. Basic stealth sorry....

Basic stealth sorry.... | This is obvious. However, I am curious about is what if there is niche range of products, that many people open and accounts and sell predominantly that type of item from the same small number of brands. If one opened a new account and started listing those items, without too many other items unrelated to past accounts, would the combination of items still cause a link, even though there are lots of people selling the same range of products? Would it still be safer to list a bunch of other items? Also, what if the other items sell in tiny volumes but the old items sell in much larger volumes, would that bring up any flags

Amazon look for anything similar as GB states many times. The chance of a seller selling the same identical item is a million to one.
