Paypal has closed my account, I am concerned they will do the same to the other member of my family who lives at the same address, how easy is it to stop this happening?
Cheers

Nothing you can really do to stop it happening, if they are linked they are linked. That doesnt always mean they will get banned though
Is it just the same address you have registered to? Are you using the same PC / laptop to access the account or using the same IP addresses?

In the past they have logged in onto PayPal using my pc, maybe a couple of months ago, I wonder how far back they retrospectively scan their data, neither have logged in recently to PayPal and definitely not since Vodafone made my fibre connection IP address static. I have told them not to log into Paypal on the wifi, but I suppose they could easily forget.

Why did you get paypal banned?

Using a different computer and selling different things plays a big part.
I was banned but my family members are yet to be banned. They are occasional users of ebay.
IF ebay want too, they can ban them as well, but they can clearly see I am not running my business off their accounts so have left their accounts alone ... for now. We will see in a few months time what happens.

The reason I got banned was I had a negative balance which I never cleared.

Best thing to do would be to clear that balance then its unlikely you will get limited.

Yeah dude, this is just plain dumb. Pay what you owe PayPal. Do they have your real info? They will come after you.

Even for 1 or 2k, its not worth it.
Plus, now your family members accounts are at constant risk of being banned.

right but if it is your real details, is it enough to lose your account over? you could make more money on it. I understand the principle thing, but just weigh up what is better for you in the long run.
as for the family members, no they will not necessarily get banned. Family accounts are fairly obvious to tell that they are seperate people. But there is a risk.

yes, my family don't sell at all.
I understand what you guys are saying, but it is very difficult to see past being screwed over and paypal just turning a blind eye.

ebay goes around and shut down ebay seller accounts just because they use the same PC or live in the same house, but not Paypal.
A paypal account is backed by cc,debit card and bank accounts ,there is a limit of how many paypal accounts one person have.
