Default Family Members

Happy Friday, guys!

I am lookng for the path of least resistance, so I was wondering if it is feasible to set up an EB account with one of my family members (same address, living in same household) info.

I already cleared it with them and got their consent.
Since I had issues with both PP and EB, is this a viable solution, current day?

Any comments or thoughts appreciated.

No family, friends, pets, Squirrels.....Even if they write off on it. One thing to think about is worst case scenarios.

Is the reason going this route for "High Selling Limits"?

Nooooo, not for higher selling limits, not at all.

I am feeling uncomfortable using an alias that I would have no ID for if/when asked to verify. And, after reading recent posts, I am getting the gut feeling that they are running names and addresses throughsome sort of public database as of late and requesting ID faxes for those mismatches.

Maybe I am gun-shy but it is just a feeling.

What are your feelings?

I have the same feelings MM78 has.

I would never ever involve any of my family members...

Mixing family and friends with business and money is just never a good idea, it's sad but no matter how close you are with someone , money will change the relationship , I have seen this happen too often

Just picture , you sell a $500 item or several orders totaling $500+ , everything seems fine , u get positive feedback get the funds, now 4 months pass, your eBay account has already been restricted from selling 2 months prior and there is $500+ in charge backs , now u have already written this account off two months ago! deleted the email moved on

Now collectors start calling your family or friends hounding them for all this money, which is putting a strain on their credit

And that's it , that's all it takes to put a strain In a lifelong friendship or family

just not worth it really. can ruin future relationships. and frankly PEOPLE CHANGE.

dont mess it up now when you can run stealth with flying colors.

in my opinion family is more risky then stealth, you will see what I mean when you get educated.

Path of least resistance put to eBay or PayPal is asking for disaster..

What about taxes?..

Where do you say you covered that with the relative?

Is the address in question clean or burned?

Questions questions....this path is messy

As always, I will take your collective advice.

I was feeling kind of defeated and airing my feelings here before doing anything---

All advice duly noted. I could never in good conscience involve family or friends in the madness of ebay and paypal knowing what I know now.

I like the Addams Family pic, ilcarletto, btw. Gave me a much-needed laugh. Grazie

Around now I usually post

Think outside the box.........................

here you are using an account to make money but you have worries about a name.
Light bulb moment? What could I use as a name?

Oh, maybe I could say I am Heisenberg Tyres or maye I could have a business sounding name...

I think I could think along those lines.....

Horror stories for those who have used family and friends exist.

Not worth losing one of them for your own good.

What happens if they need the account in their name and you ruined it somehow?

Has happened and should not happen at all.

Do yourself a favor and do not take the easy route when all other options exist here.
