How do we know Amazon has started browser fingerprinting?

Is it just speculation? Or how do we know for sure Amazon have started it?

So is the way around it InPrivate browsing? Is there a Firefox equivalent of InPrivate?

Wish I knew madsam - i am so tech unsavvy that I use different user accounts with dial-up for Amazon - that's my only report.

Back in May I posed that here for the first time. My post was based on 2 Press Releases found on a Wall Street News website, 1 form Amazon and 1 From an article Linked Security Company, the Security company pretty much stating that they Aquired Amazon as a Client, and Amazon Saying that they are Exploring a "NEW" User tracking Technique called Browser Fingerprinting, that could save Amazon Millions in Fraud Claims on their Site.

I don't think this would be an issue as long as you keep your browser simple as possible with no flash or java. This means no firefox adons as well...
