Ok guys, I need to start a conversation about a strategy I'm thinking of.
Here's the scenario:
Get a VPS with an ISP in let's say Phoenix, AZ.
The IP assigned to that VPS is static. Obviously the ISP assigns an IP from their IP pool.
The whois for that IP in the IP trace displays the location as a Phoenix IP with the address of the Web Host company
If an account is opened (with AMZ, Ebay, or PPal) with the address in the neighborhood of the address of that ISP in Phoenix what is the likelihood of such an account sticking?
What are the potential problems/pitfalls/cautions in the above scenario, and suggestions please?
To me the biggest sticking point seems to be the fact that the IP traces back to the name and address of that ISP.
Also, if the account is first opened from a different IP in the neighborhood of the ISP and then moved to the
Static IP of the ISP, what sort of a difference would that make.
Sometimes I like to think of this scenario like this. A legit ebay/PPal/AMZ user/business owner decides to hire some IT help located remotely which then decides to manage the account for the legit user using cloud computing.
Would AMZ/Ppal/Ebay axe a "legit" user in the above scenario just because he/she decided to hire help that's located remotely and would rather manage that business for their client in the cloud?
Let's talk about the holes in this strategy.
Obviously AMZ is of the biggest concern here.
Would be great if some of the AMZ pros chime in.
