I don't know how the AT&T Uverse box works but Verizon has a similar "all in one" router that they try really hard to force you to use. After a lot of begging they agreed to let me use my own router. It requires a bit of reconfiguration, the ethernet cable needs to come directly from the ONT.

You best bet would be to search around on the internet to see if a similar configuration works for AT&T.

I hear that you cannot change your mac address with ATT all-in-one boxes. If you can't change the mac, you wont be able to go stealth.

At this point, you can either change ISP, go to Dail-up for amazon purposes, or get a wireless USB dongle (Clear Wireless is the best deal in my area).

I got comcast modem and belkin router, but I am considering getting a USB dongle just because I'm getting annoyed with change mac on this, get up off the couch to reset this... I'm laaaazy

LOL! I think as long as you have a phone line running to your house, you should be able to.

4G stick way better, but price is way higher However; you can do your "amazoning" as I like to call it, everywhere and anywhere. If 4G is not available, you get 3G access.

If you have a full-time job like me, imagine how nice it would be to take your laptop and get some amazoning done on your lunch break or bathroom break

yeah I wasn't sure if it needs to be active to get dail-up... I guess you're dailing out, it would only make sense.

Look up CLEAR WIRELESS, but all 3g/4g sticks cost money and you need a contract, internet access isn't free my friend

wireless dongles need to be changed out. You can't spoof the MAC on them so they don't work, except for with 1 account. ATT Uverse is unuseable for amazon, can't change the MAC and you cant connect routers to it. Your only option is to get dialup, or change to basic DSL internet access.
