Default Buyer Request to Cancel

Buyer request to cancel the transaction before print shipping label. If I cancel it will this count as bad transaction in my seller account?

Thank you

I don't see why it would - buyer is requesting - best to cancel. I see it as worse if you confirm, send it out then he decides to return it for refund. You lose shipping.

Regardless of the reason for cancellation, it does count against you. I had the same question several months back and simply went to amazon's FAQ's about cancellations.

That is correct, you have to keep your pre-fulfillment order cancellation rate below 5%, otherwise it will affect your customer metrics.

Yup , does affect you. Simply use the confirm order button to confirm shipment. After you do that refund the buyer.

What is the pre-fulfillment cancel rate?

The pre-fulfillment cancel rate is the number of orders cancelled by a seller prior to ship-confirmation, divided by the number of orders in the time period of interest.

Pre-fulfillment Cancel Rate = (CancelledOrders)/(TotalOrders)
When computing this metric, we consider all order cancellations initiated by the seller, with exception of those that are requested by the buyer using the order-cancellation options in their Amazon account. Pending orders that are cancelled by the buyer directly on Amazon.com are also not included.

It is very important that when an order comes that the item is in stock and available to ship. Pre-fulfillment order cancelations that are not in response to buyer requests can point to areas of improvement in your inventory management. Sellers should work toward achieving and maintaining a pre-fulfillment cancel rate of less than 2.5%.
Look like it not count if buyer request to cancel.

That would be true. If a customer themselves cancels order, it does nor count against you. I see it often on my orders page. It is greyed out and can't be clicked on. Still, after a certain time period, the customer is not able to cancel, thus requesting seller to do so. It would count agaisnt you to cancel.

Just to clarify, if the buyer requests to cancel the order using the "order-cancellation" option, it will not count against you when you cancel the order.

You are not comprehending what I am on about. As everyone should know, the buyer has limited time to make up his/her mind to cancel the order and when that time frame is up the buyer is unable to cancel. The only way the buyer can cancel is if they request the seller to cancel the order for them. Now what I was trying to point out, the buyer has to contact the seller with the correct email heading for the seller to cancel and not have it count against on the pre-fulfilment cancellation rate metric.

Seems to me the buyer can cancel until it is shipped or are you talking about FBA orders.

No, if buyer sent you a order cancel request , it won't affect your seller rating if you follow the reauest and cancel the order.

Can anyone else confirm this? I have had an account suspended as my cancellation rate was over their metric. So now every time a buyer requests a cancellation I get extremely paranoid to do it. Even after they sent me the proper cancellation request header.
