Amazon can trace MAC addresses.

And modems have MAC addresses.

So yes, your bet is correct.

Amazon can't see the router's MAC address. Discussed before. Only way for that to happen would be for your router to be directly connected to Amazon's server.

But on the amazon book, it says "only the router, not the modem, can be detected by amazon"

I feel that amazon can see it.

as big as amazon is, I wouldn't be surprised at all if they could.

Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if they even get the bank account info, no matter how illegal it is O_o

makes sense. Seeing as a lot of times when people go to add bank information, they are almost immediately suspended.

Again, they can see your modem's MAC ID, but not your router's.

You are tethering a phone, correct? iPhone or Android? I think every vmware workspace gets its own unique network MAC ID's. Bear in mind that most phone network ID's can't really be spoofed, because the network depends on knowing exactly who it's talking to. Best to use one phone or USB dongle per account.

Use that phone for only one account is best advice I can give you. Cellular radios/modems do NOT work exactly the same as ethernet/wifi so it's best you keep everything separate.
