Cool New cell phone - same SIM card, can they be linked?

I currently have a phone that is in dire need to get updated, and I used that phone to log into seller central with my suspnd accounts.

I am getting a new phone, but will most likely have the same SIM card as my old phone.

Does anyone know if that can link you? If so, then I can request a new card when I go get my phone.

Thanks!

Phone numbers are specific to SIM cards rather than the phone, so yes you will be linked; the phone number is going to be the same as the old account. Don't do it.

Edit: I completely misunderstood the first time, sorry. No, Amazon (or any other company for that matter) can't write anything to a SIM card; the phone's flash memory/memory card is used for that. So you will be fine.

Not true at all. Usually, only the cellphone carrier, carrier associated services such as mobile banking services, and the phone itself on the kernel level can read off of the SIM card. A SIM card only tells the carrier who you are, it does not hardcode any phone numbers. This is why you can call your carrier's customer service and have them change your number remotely within minutes without having to replace your SIM card whatsoever.
