Default Policy warning for sending notification of shipping to buyer

Quote:
Hello from Amazon.

We are writing because you may have violated our policies by sending order or shipment confirmations to Amazon buyers.

Amazon notifies buyers by e-mail when an order is placed or shipped. To prevent buyers from receiving multiple notifications, our policies prohibit sellers from sending separate confirmations.

For more information on this policy, search on “Charge When Ship Terms and Conditions” in seller Help.

Note that failure to comply with our policies may result in the removal of your selling privileges.

We appreciate your cooperation and thank you for selling on Amazon.com.

Regards,

Seller Performance Team

I start a new account and try to keep my customer in-touch with their order.

I send out a thank you note when received an order and send them a note when item ship.

And last couple days I received this email from Amazon

Sounds you ran into a buyer who was very rule-oriented ...there are the do-gooder type of buyers who will force you to stick to Az policies - be careful in the future.

Personally, I think these buyers have too much time on their hands but whatever

Could be a buyer who did the reporting, but I feel like Amazon would at least have some sort of system in place to redflag an account if there is correspondence between the seller and buyer over a certain percentage of the time... this case being 100% ;P

I don't think it is buyer report. Why would the buyer report when seller send a shipment notify email.

I'm going to venture to guess that it was more than just saying, "hey Greg, your order has shipped, have a great day!" And something more along the lines of asking them to contact you if they have any problems with their order or possibly something related to feedback in general. Someone might find that annoying; I would.

I would venture that too - maybe trying to get them to explore other products of yours? Only speculation

Depends on what was said AND what was hinted at as well.

Some buyers react strangely.

I think that amazon does monitor the emails and certain keywords raise flags, this could of been a simple item was shipped thank u letter and amazon flagged it, they are. Very regulating over seller buyer contact

And that`s why you keep e-mails on Amazon to a minimum - guarantee customer satisfaction, respond quickly enough and avoid a lot of back and forth
