Default Is it just me or Amazon increased security?

I've been running multiple stealth accounts for over a year and a half.
Never had a problem, just warnings.

Recently, 2 of my accounts (new stealth accounts less than 2 months old) got locked out.

No email, no warning, just can't login.

Any ideas before I call in?
Haven't done anything different than the last year and a half lately, that's why I don't know what's up. My only thought is they increased their security against stealths?

Is anybody else experiencing anything like this these days?
thanks in advance

amazon's approach got stricter late last year.

Zapping of accounts is happening much more frequently.

Are you getting the password does not work etc message?

Are there funds held?

Yes or no to that question is enough.

There was an incident earlier this year in January after having one of my stealth accounts for a few months, that password was not recognized. I looked into my email address and found out that Amazon sent me this email below. Please note that I did not receive any phishing emails, I honestly think it was precaution against my stealth account and they conjured this whole phishing situation up.

Dear John ***##

This is an important message from Amazon.com.

As a precaution, we've reset your Amazon.com password because you may have been subject to a "phishing" scam.

Here's how phishing works:

A scam artist sends an e-mail, which is designed to look like it came from a reputable company such as a bank, financial institution, or retailer like Amazon.com, but is in fact a forgery. These e-mails direct you to a website that looks remarkably similar to the reputable company's website, where you are asked to provide account information such as your e-mail address and password. Since that web site is actually controlled by the phisher, they get the information you entered.

Go to amazon.com/phish to read more about ways to protect yourself from phishing.

To regain access to your Amazon customer account:

1. Go to Amazon.com and click the "Your Account" link at the top of our website.

2. Click the link that says "Forgot your password?"

3. Follow the instructions to set a new password for your account.

Please choose a new password and do not use the same password you used with us previously.

Thank you for your interest in Amazon.com.

Sincerely,

Amazon.com

hi rsot,
my cc wasn't up to date on one of the accounts that zapped. on the other one, yes.
called in and was told by customer service they couldn't give me much info. That i had to speak to my account specialist, and he had no contact number. Was instructed to write him an email which I did and have not received any response yet.
