VMs at least make sure that your "fingerprint" is not traceable very easily (easier not to slip up) since it's usually a clean OS installation. And yes, MAC address of the PC isn't that important but can't hurt to be careful!

Amazon also don't use browser finger printing. In any event a new user account on you PC creates a fresh browser per user.

You don't know that. There's no possible way you can say that with certainty, unless you make every single Amazon account with the EXACT same browser configurations and have NEVER been linked.

I read through the Amazon Ghost again and it certainly suggests that we need to make sure the MAC address is different on the PC too... So correct me if I'm wrong but I'm inclined to think that MAC is important too; hence VM.
