Amazon Charge When Ship Functionality Active
5:28 AM (1 hour ago)
Dear Seller,
Your Amazon Seller Account is now enabled for Charge When Ship. Charge When Ship is the order management process that results in buyers being charged when their orders ship rather than when the orders are placed.
Here is how Charge When Ship works:
* When you ship an order, you confirm the shipment and provide shipping information in Manage Orders. If you have a Pro Merchant Subscription you can also use text-file feeds for this.
* We charge the buyer after you confirm shipment, rather than when the order was placed, providing a better buyer experience.
*After shipment is confirmed, Amazon completes the buyer payment transaction and credits your seller account. It may take several hours after you have confirmed shipment before you see the transaction reflected on your Payments Account Summary.
Please note that Amazon assumes the risk of buyer non-payment for every order in your Unshipped Orders Reports or appearing with a confirmation button in your Manage Orders page. If the buyer's credit card is declined for one of these orders, Amazon will cover the payment due from the buyer. Remember that orders in pending status should not be shipped; only orders in your Unshipped Orders Reports or that have a confirmation button in Manage Orders should be shipped and then confirmed. Please consult the Marketplace Participation Agreement and seller Help for more information on payments.
* To keep buyers informed about their shipments, we display the shipping information in the buyer's Amazon account, and we also send the buyer an e-mail notification with all the shipping information.
* You can cancel an order, if necessary, instead of confirming the shipment, and then we will not charge the buyer at all and you will not have to issue a refund.
Charge When Ship follows the current industry standard for processing buyer payments and will also help keep buyers informed about the status of their shipments. All new orders you receive must be processed using Charge When Ship.
With Charge When Ship, you are required to confirm shipment of each order. If Amazon does not receive confirmation of shipment within 30 days of the date the order was placed, the order will be cancelled. This means we will not charge the customer and you will not be paid for the order.
If you do not begin properly confirming your shipments, we will suspend your product listings to prevent customers from receiving orders they have not been charged for. If we do have to suspend your listings, once you begin properly confirming your shipments you can contact us and request reactivation of your product listings.
Note also that late shipment confirmation will adversely affect your seller performance metrics. Buyers will receive "Improper Late Shipment" e-mail notifications for orders that are not confirmed as shipped by the Promised Ship Date.
We think you will find managing your orders is easier and more efficient with Charge When Ship. If you have questions, contact us using the "By e-mail" or "By phone" button in the Seller Support box found on the right side of seller Help pages.
Thank you for selling on Amazon.com.

IMPORTANT REMINDER
================================================== =========
For each order you ship, you must confirm shipment within 30 days of the date the order was placed. Any order that has not been confirmed as shipped will be automatically cancelled after 30 days. This means we will not charge the customer and you will not be paid for the order.
