During the utility bill verification stage of a new account, in Amazons 2nd email they send this: Hello Seller,
Please provide the following updated documents and confirm there is a valid credit card on file:
--Utility bill with name and address visible
--Business license
--If you have active listings, include copies of invoices, receipts, contracts or delivery orders from your supplier issued in the last 90 days
The 1st email was: –Business license, if applicable
2nd email, see they removed the “if applicable part : –Business license
What if you respond with the utility bill, but not a business license? Never experienced this type of requirement for. Business license has always been "if applicable".

They are not reviewing bills without the license, you must send them Business license as lot of people confirmed, even business registration certificate isn't accepted, so either send that document, or return after the Q4, they might accept bills again after the end of this year.

Legit people/companies will have several additional business forms that they can submit at this stage, which is why the probably request it.
Then they just decide to accept the ones that seem the most legit/credible
Most people will only have a utility
You can still pass it with either or both, we are experiencing about 5-10% pass rates with stealth information.
Hopefully gets better after Xmas

Hopefully gets better after Xmas | So if I respond with just a utility bill, they can still pass the account? I have never experienced a situation like this where the business license is not "optional" and its strange to see Amazon change this in their verbiage.

when I open an account with SEARS.COM,they want not just my retail certificate but also a bank account statement in the name of my company.
I manage to get by with a check in my company name.
It looks like the trend is -if you want to play etailer, you have to be legit with retail license, bank account in company name,a physical address not a PO Box,reference from some of your suppliers, invoices of past purchases, website URL if you have one.

Amazon has always had business licenses as "optional". Now they removed this verbiage. This is what the purpose of this thread is.

i thought you verified your last shop after a week of back and forth with just the utility bill?
its definitely possible whether they start requiring both as of yesterday/today could be a possibility
hopefully not though as the utility issue is already a problem as is

Have you experienced this verbiage? What do you think will happen if I just give a utility bill but no license?

What goes with Sears.com will soon be same with AMZN,WMT,TGT,BBY,if not already?

Haven't seen it yet, but hopefully they aren't updating their requirements to both
That would suck
