Struggling to get special category aproved

I have recently opened up an Amazon Account, our business is selling bottled cocktails. every time I apply, I'm being told the information submitted does not meet the requirements.

We are fully registered food business
Registered alcohol production facility
Personal and Premises licence holder

the only thing we don't have is VAT Registered yet! however this is an option on the category application!

Any Advice would be a great help

our brand is small batch cocktails

Why not just VAT register? That shouldn't be hard

Foods, especially alcohol are definitely harder to get approved.

You should just get the VAT registered.

Hey thanks for coming back to us, its not to difficult, Our accountant advised us to wait until you earn 80k

Then do 80k and reapply with VAT number, you do not need to be a rocket scientist to see why Amazon will not approve you. To them without it you are not a serious seller who is a risk.

Nah, it's got absolutely nothing to do with them not being VAT registered.

But I am surprised that they managed to acquire/build, stock, staff and put a 'alcohol production facility' into action without an accountant explaining that even without sales you'd be best off VAT registered.

Hard to imagine someone being approved to manufacture alcohol without an outlet. Surely Amazon is not the only place you're selling your wares, impossible to believe it is.

I am inclined to believe it does contributes to it, not being VAT registered on that product with all their certifications show that perhaps they are doing dodgy selling not declaring taxes and perhaps selling an alcohol product is not a seller Amazon wants to authorize as they are not fully responsible.

Nothing of the sorts, dispelled on the main UK forums countless times over the years, even by the mods.

(VAT is in no way related to the declaration of Income or corporation taxes and is paid via a completely different system)

Better see a professional for confirmation, less nerves more peace of mind
