SIN card works, as well as the HST paperwork from the Gov.

Make sure to redo tax interview with correct name of SIN or Business contact name for HST.

my account is a German account.
I do not have a German tax number and documents, so I am trying to create a new US mmllc and provide that tax number and documents to my account.
Will this work? will amazon ask my German tax number again? is it already toasted?

if you create a separate USA account then it'll have nothing to do with your german account.

Amazon is only doing the re verify thing for clients who didnt have to do when originally creating the account. In the past some accounts when you made allowed you to skip certain ID processes. Now amazon is backtracking on those accounts.

That's interesting...so if you move, you can potentially register a new amazon account in your name if you've been suspended previously?

If he is re-using everything then you don't have to move.
It may be his account is in good standing so they aren't checking for suspended accounts? Maybe it will linked at a later date?

ID was always the problem. The unique identification number.

Address is less of an issue as people move and businesses may share an address (some will use mail forwarding address or their accountants address)

Where would you look for the unique identification number on a USA drivers license? Is it the drivers license number itself, or another set of numbers located elsewhere on the license?

If its the drivers license number, simply moving to another state could have those numbers changed/updated

I'm concerned it Amazon, if I don't type something in exactly like I did when I created the account it's toast....I forget if I did individual or business. I am technically a sole proprietorship because I use my SS number and not an EIN number. Should I put business or individual?

And why are they doing this? Did something scare them? Account has been running clean so far nothing negative.

Amazon has been required to do this because of the inform act passed by the FTC. Our version of the know your customers laws.
