Have you guys been asked to set up passkey??
Hello,
Starting in two weeks, passkeys will start to be required on a rolling basis for Amazon accounts. This will be required for all of your accounts, including Seller Central and Amazon.com. As part of our ongoing commitment to security, we're increasing passkey usage to all accounts to protect against unauthorized access and fraud.
Passkeys are a secure, passwordless way to sign in using your device's built-in authentication—like fingerprint, face recognition, or PIN. They can't be phished or stolen, and they're supported by most modern smartphones, tablets, and operating systems.
Set up your passkey, as it will be required for every login after that date. If you haven’t set one up yet, you’ll be prompted to enroll. Your password will remain on file as a backup recovery option but won’t be available for logging in.
We recommend setting up passkeys on at least two devices in case a device is unavailable. Passkeys sync automatically across devices signed into the same Apple ID, Google account, or Microsoft account.
To set up a passkey:
Log in to Seller Central.
Go to Login & Security.
Select Set up beside Passkeys.
Follow the on-screen instructions to complete set up (takes less than two minutes).
Users with shared Amazon accounts must register any additional people accessing the account as secondary users to create their own passkey and log in separately.
To add secondary users:
Go to Settings and select User Permissions.
Select the desired account for the new user.
Enter the user’s contact information and select Send invitation. The secondary user will need a brand-new email address that has not been used on any Amazon account before.
Repeat for all new users that need to be added.
Request new users to follow the email instructions.
Note: Only users who have registered as secondary users will be able to set up a passkey and log in separately to the shared account. Once registered, secondary users can log in and create a passkey.
For issues setting up or using your passkey, our support team will respond in under 24 hours at Seller Support. If you can't set up a passkey due to device or technical issues, contact Seller Support immediately.
If you lose access to your passkey, you can contact Seller Support to verify your identity and quickly regain access.
For instructions on how to set up secondary users, go to Passkey verification.
For more information, go to About Passkey and Use Passkey on Multiple Devices.
The Amazon Services team

I have been selling books on AMZN long ago when it was only for books, then it adds electronics.
Then BBY was selling on AMZN,then it realised it is making AMZN rich and bad for BBY,so it boosts its own website.
AMZN fees is just too high, and it wants us to keep shipping low, claiming we should raise our asking price for the item,it is impossible to raise asking price as so many are competing.
Back then some folks who work for publishing will pick up those imperfect runs of paperback and sell for 99 cents and reap shipping cost, making $1 plus until AMZN said you cant list books for 99 cents. (back then AMZN fee is low).
ANZN back then also blocks Thailand as too many fraudulent use of credit cards.

Horrible.
It will tell you that you are asking too much, then it will tell you are asking too little!
If you sign up for monthly subscription, then the fee is lower.
I have found new items which are out of production or not sold in retail stores, like dental floss tapes.
AMZN has destroyed many small bookstores, even mail order catalogues.

lol, Amazon has destroyed a lot more than bookstores. So for an individual seller, it's $.99 per item plus ~10%?

DID YOU GET it from AMZN>
When you list an item,it should tell you how much AMZN take from you.
iT USED TO have AMZN ONE CLICK,kind of like Paypal or MP,now we just signed up with debit, credit or bank account, but no Paypal.

I was just asking about your experience, since you're the one selling there. I've never sold on Amazon. I got those numbers from an LLM but I have no idea how accurate they are.

I am just glad I am getting rid of my books.
It plays game,if you are prime account shipping is supposed to be free, but the item costs more,if you are not prime, you would be staring at a lower price item with shipping fee.
Biden wants to break up AMZN.

Free shipping with Prime is for the buyers, not sellers. Whoever is selling an item has to pay regardless.
Can't you just look at the transaction details for one of your orders and see how much you were charged?

Netting $30.35 on a $35 order is actually very good, compared to other marketplaces.
I'm not able to ship anything for less than $5.50 even if it's going to my next door neighbor. What service did you use to get such a cheap shipping label? I'm assuming you aren't using FBA and even USPS Media Mail costs more than $3.99.

$3.99 SHIPPING is dictated by AMZN,my actual shipping fee is higher for media mail is like $4.10.
when third party sellers complain they cant ship for $3.99,AMZN just said raise your asking price.
Fed Exp ground can be cheaper than USPS,for media mail ,there is so called USPS M BAG,but I think it is now only available for overseas shipping.

So you're saying they charge you a $3.99 shipping fee and then you still have to buy your own label?
Are you sure?

no,they give me $3.99 for shipping the book, but I need more than that/
AMZN has not updated its USPS shipping rate, media book now costs more than $4
we have the option to print shipping label on AMZN,it is always more than $3.99.AMZN does not care,$3.99 was from years ago
