Default Question from a soon to be Amazon newbie...

So, if you've never had ANY affiliation with Amazon in the past and you sign up a new seller account, which is the way to go? I sell DVD's and blu-rays (all legit, new releases new in retail packaging) and then some older titles (I buy whole collections at a time). I have been off and on Ebay for years now, but because I was suspended back in 2000, I can't share my real info.

The new 200/$20,000 deal is the thing holding me back, I have about 5 Ebay accounts, but wanted to try out Amazon as an additional revenue stream (plus it seems you can get more for your stuff, although you pay more in fees).

Anyways, long story short, if I am clean as it comes, signing up on Amazon should be a-ok, right?

I see that much with all the checks, velocity, feedback problems, etc. I figured I would give it a shot and see how it goes, can't hurt to try. Right? Right?

New Amazon seller with DVDs is not a smart idea. It also sounds like you dont know how to make sure you are linked to old suspended accounts, so you may want to look into that. Also, if you were suspended in the past on Amazon and you sell DVDs, something tells me they arent authentic or you would not have been suspended in the past. Am I missing something?

Any DVD seller is always automatic suspect. I go through this daily.
Either people will think you sell counterfeit or they complain that your prices are "much higher" then everyone else.. ehhhh

Well, you're missing the fact that I have never sold on Amazon which was pretty clearly stated. I know that there are a ton of people on here that sell "dvd's", I sell the real deal, all are studio released (without getting into detail, let's just say, I'm "in the industry", so I get them FREE.) It's not like I'll be listing 20 of the same title, at most I can get around 6.

Anyways, Ebay, yes, I have been suspended and currently have 5 sellers accounts and 4 buyer accounts. Amazon, never sold, haven't even bought off there.

I know DVD's are a VERO item, whether legit or not.

It doesn't matter if the DVDs are legit. AMZ is too cheap to spend money on enforcement, so they just drop the hammer arbitrarily. A customer can complain about ⊗⊗⊗⊗ and AMZ might give you a chance to prove yourself ... or they might not.

It does not matter what category you sell in seems amazon is dropping the hammer every couple of days on new seller accounts. They get a nice chunk of change just by suspending accounts and holding funds.I would not ship out anything until I got money in the bank. Then if the hammer falls I now refund all buyers so amazon can't make anymore money on the transactions. If enough sellers did this then it might shake up amazon. I mean not a couple of hundred but a couple of thousand sellers.

I learned my lesson now after all the years of selling. Amazon is not to be trusted. Maybe they had a change of the guards at their secret hideout this is why it is harder to keep accounts long enough...

I wouldn't worry so much about the customers as much as I would about your competition that also sell DVD's/media. You start selling under cost, and start affecting their sales, you are in for a world of cut-throat activities against your accounts. DVD's-software-electronics=TROUBLE.

With that said, good luck with your new platform
