Activity: 0% Longevity: 80% | | A-Z claim cutoff time?
Just had a buyer file an A-Z claim for an order placed 6 moths ago. Order was from january. Wtf is the cutoff time for a-z claims on amazon?
Buyer first emailed me saying that the item is missing a piece of paper from the original packaging.
I told them you had more than enough time to bring up the issue with me as I offer 90 day warranty on all purchase. |
The complete step-by-step guide to get back to selling today!

I thought it was 90 days. Guess not. Amazon should defend the claim in your favor. I would fight it. The damage is already done from the A to Z claim being filed. It will count against your metrics regardless. The buyer can not leave negative feedback at this point anyway.

I know they cant leave negative so im not worried about the a-z claim as its not even going to affect me as its so long ago. I FULLY expect to win. Just find it weird that amazon even allows this so long after purchase date

PP would still allow this kind of claim and buyer could win (terrible sidenote)

Sometimes, scammy buyers will wait for this sweet spot to occur. Where they can do claims during the period in which USPS would no longer have tracking information for that particular shipment (they only keep it in their system for so many days). If the A-to-z claim doesn't work out for that person, they might try for credit card dispute.
It's actually pretty clever on their part.. many credit card companies will allow up to 180 day disputes, while USPS (and maybe some other carriers) don't keep tracking records for that long. If they do this, the customer WILL end up getting their money back through their bank/credit card company. I have seen it happen, not with my own account but from my uncle's account.

Had a customer try this with me.
Poor guy got a shock though.
I had worked for the credit card company he used.
Quick phone call. One claim rejected. HIS card cancelled for fraudulent usage.
I hope he was educated after that. |

Still havent heard back from amazon yet regarding the claim which is weird as they usually resolve claims in 24 hours...
