Default FBA Reimbursements due to lost shipments

Although FBA is pretty good, I just had a shipment go missing. The items were in route to another FBA warehouse and just fell out of inventory. They were quick to reimburse me but they did a reimbursement on an avg price of 54.xx. The FBA price for this item right now is 69.99$ and the past 30days FBA price was 63$-85$ with an avg price of about 75$.

I know for a fact I was going to sell these items for 75-79$. I bitch and moaned to Amazon that they should atleast reimburse me the lowest FBA price the past 30 days but they said no way and that they use the avg sale of ALL sellers when doing reumburstments.

Is there something I can do or say that will help in cases like this? Im losing about 15-20$ minus any commission on these units when I am not at fault.

Punch your current price at time of lose into the fulfillment calculator. You may find that they are really close to the proper reimbursement cost.

Also, keep in mind that you just sold a whole case, to one customer, that will not complain. And they took the whole case in one sale.

Our experience with this is that AZ is normally pretty good calculating what your after sale take home would be. (after all fees).

From the figures you posted, it looks pretty close. (15% listing fees and anywhere from 5-15% for storage and shipping fees depending on weight).

Hope that helps.

Are you losing profit or amazon not covering your cost price. If its profit basically tough. If your losing on your cost price then send a copy invoice to amazon and explain. You may be lucky.

Reimbursement is usually never close to sale price. It is meant to be close to what you paid for it.

Sometimes fighting over 1 item is not the wisest use of your time...especially with Amazon...did you make a small profit with the FBA coverage for the loss? If so...accept it and move on...

FBA check, usually you only make $54 dollars when you sell an FBA item for $74

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that you only get what the item is worth and f you want to dispute what you are getting reimbursed that you have to furnish receipts. If this is a stealth account I would be happy with what you are getting and not stir up your account.

If you are getting what you paid for if wholesale or more, I would take it and be happy. Can simply buy in more stock with that money

I get what everyone is saying. I just dont see how Amazon is getting this number when they should be pulling the past sales(to calculate reimbursement) from the recent FBA sellers and not ANY seller. That is my issue. FBA sales go for alot more. I have extra costs to ship the item to FBA, Label, and Amazon's fee for central distribution.

One day, when I am invited on Amazon's board, I will be bringing this issue up!

You are sounding like you want your cake and eating it too

If you picked FBA for its other benefits, then you know I am right

As I said. They pay you for what it cost to replace, not retail.
