That is just a local IP address. Would do them very little good. Nearly all computers on a small network will have the same local IP

I beg to differ. All computers on a given network would have different local IPs. Although it would be on the same external ip. So your router is typically 192.168.1.1, desktop may be 192.168.1.52, laptop 192.168.1.147, tablet 192.168.1.25, ethernet switch 192.168.1.80, etc.

But anyway, it will not help them, just lets them know you signed on from different devices within your network..

On a the same network yes, all different devices on the same network would all have a different local IP address.

I had meant most primary devices on small networks (only 2 or 3 devices) would likely have the IP 192.168.1.1/2/3, which would be of no use to Amazon.

Very correct, just as most sites will.

There's actually no hard evidence that Amazon tracks MAC addresses, Amazon would need to install some type plugin or applet into your browser in order to have access to that info.

I do not believe they are MAC tracking. They track the ip and use a combination of browser fingerprinting, geographical data and inventory comparison.

This is correct.

Amazon cannot track your MAC unless you specifically let them via applet (Java/ActiveX popup or the likes)
