Default Anyone ever had a UPS (FBA inbound) shippment "lost"?

So I dropped off some packages last night, Thursday at UPS. All departed normally except for one package.

Package was scanned as picked up, like they always do. But it never departed. I was thinking maybe they are backed up, and it never made it on a trailer so it will go out on Friday, tomorrow.

Today is Friday, and I dropped of some more packages. Those packages have departed normally but this package still has not moved.

Im going to be losing sleep now over this until it is found. I dont know if it is possible, but I hope it did not walk out the front door.

Stupid me, Im dropping off every night, and never get receipts. So if the package is lost they might say how do we know what was really in it. Not only that, but my profit was more then 100% so my value is worth alot more then the actual value of the merchandise.

So has anyone ever had a package go missing with UPS?

The parcel numbers should automatically upload in Seller Central from UPS and Amazon interface.
The parcel's if you read on UPS tracking say no more info may be shown until delivery. I would guess it will be delivered and has just missed a scan.

I dont think thats it, it would have been scanned at 2 other hubs, and then delivered this morning.

It was not weighed on the scanner at drop off, so just because I put 20lbs they can cause a fuss what was actually in there.

The only thing on my side is I have not had an issue with missing inventory I think in 8 months, maybe 100 shipments and everything was received.

Then all you have to do is go to reconcile and let amazon do the work, it may not allow this function for 72 hours

Shipment has not been checked in
One or more of the boxes in your shipment have not been checked in to our fulfillment center. Once your shipment has been fully checked in, we will receive them to your inventory within 72 hours.
"

I have contacted UPS and informed Amazon of the lost package.

I just hope it was not stolen and finds its way enroute. Im just nervous that the only scan is "pick up" so it could have never made it into the sorting facility and straight out the front door. My only peace of mind is there is a camera that works, and UPS tracks the person that scans it.

But maybe it is because they are backed up, but it does not make any sense that todays packages departed and this one still has not.

You have so many incidents with your business.

Laptops last time, lost parcels now.

Hope your luck gets better.

I still think it will turn up, one thing, was it overweight to the declared weight on the label. Last year a UPS driver refused to lift a box as the declared weight was 35lbs and the weight was 45lbs and it was left in the local depot for me to re label with the correct weight.

No, maybe off 5lbs most. I talked to the guys today, and they didnt know anything about it.

We'll see. I hope it turns up. I am just worried it might of been left on the counter and a customer seen it or any other reason it did not make it after the scan. I shipped in the manufacturer box/case so it was quite clear what was inside.

Hope it does turn up.

I have had this happen to me. Package scanned as picked up and then delivered 5 days later. No en route scans at all. Tends to happen with larger packages for me.

Maybe I'm missing something but you know the 72 hours is working days?

I've had lots of parcels go missing that were delivered to Amazon. I actually quite like it As they reimburse you the retail price of the stock.

You guys were right. Amazon received in the inventory today. Scans were never updated though.

I've never seen a ups package not scanned. Now I can sleep.

I know this is sorted now. If anyone else has this issue again (in the UK) as long as you use Amazon UPS shipping Amazon will refund you up to £2000. Sometimes thye ask for invoices, for smaller claims they don't.

They are exceptionally good about refunding.
