Using a gateway for a second stealth account
I'm interested in creating a second stealth account in my office.
For the IP address, I was thinking of connecting to a neighbor's hotspot (using that neighbor's modem/router, but not through their personal network) and logging in to my current stealth's xfinity account.
Given that I will be using someone else's router/modem (but the same xfinity account) to log in, I would think the assigned IP address should be distinct and therefore not linked to my first stealth account that is using a different router/modem (but again, the same xfinity account). With a hotspot connection, I won't be using that neighbor's personal network either.
Can anyone confirm this? Thanks in advance.
Edit: to clarify, if you are located in the U.S., the standard router you'll get from xfinity (one of the biggest ISPs here), cannot turn off its hotspot option; the many xfinity customers who have these routers cannot prevent other wireless users from using their router to access their own xfinity account. So for example, when I lookup various wireless networks in my area, I will see several networks marked 'xfinity' (these are not personal networks, but hotspots associated with each neighbor's router). If I connect to one such hotspot and provide my xfinity account information, I can surf the web using that neighbor's router and modem, but I won't be logged in using their personal network.
