Question Buyer account banned

One of my buyer accounts has been banned for too many returns (made around 200 purchases in 12 months with 14 returns to Amazon, not 3rd party sellers).

I have 1 return pending, already printed out return label and it's ready to send.

I can't login to the account anymore.

Will they still process the return? It's a UK account used for buying only.

I never do returns on eBay, I just resell it if I don't like it.

I noticed I couldn't logon and then checked my email and got the message from cis@amazon email address about too many returns being the reason for the closure of the account.

I don't think they can stop me from returning the item I need to return to them because it is not fit for purpose and is still within the 14 days of the distance selling regulations. Am I correct or are they still going to kick up a fuss about another return?

15 returns is high.

Were you buying to onsell or personal usage?

I'd do a chargeback if it was from Amazon, not a third party seller though.

they can do what they want, but if you send it back and they dont issue a refund then do a chargeback.

Did you get any warnings? Amazon is pretty good about sending warnings if you are abusing any policys.

email cis@amazon.com asking if they could temporary re activate your account for tax purposes, and usually they will get back to you pretty quick. they will open the account for 24 hours, get on the chat and get the rep to do an advance on the refund. done deal. or just chargeback your credit card whatever you feel like doing.
p.s you can get amazon reps to do amazing things.

Yeah, right...

I return far more than that. Never had any bans to my buyer account.

Must be returning items that are very expensive, or returning broken, opened, etc items.

Amazon is VERY return friendly. Something OP isn't telling us....

It's high number of returns, but there are no magic number when they will shut your account down. It depends also on average order value and a few other various...

Same here. I have heard that the amount plays a big factor. I wonder also if the number of times you claim defective versus "I just don't want it" (and you pay the return shipping makes a difference also?

I've gotta be on the bubble this year. I've been buying the suspicious unusually cheap crap that "other sellers" are offering for the items I want, and getting a lot of duds lately that I've had to return. Way way more than 14, just in the past 6 months. Have been considering keeping stuff that's broken just so I won't get in trouble.

Amazon doesn't care what you return for 3rd party, just from Amazon.com direct.

I return on avergae 2 items a day on my Amazon buying account that is used with dropshipping. Amounts vary of course but been doing this a good couple of years with no issue.

I would also suspect that its something other than the return rate. Might be worth trying to press Amz further for a little more info op? I know getting sense out of them is like pulling teeth but maybe its an issue you can resolve with them?

As for the return you have yet to send. If you have no access to your account then you will probably need to charge back to get the money if you return it. Resell it yourself could be less hasstle if item is not faulty.
