Default Do you get upset when you lose a stealth?

I had one paypal dispute opened against me which i lost and i found out due to me losing the dispute that paypal permanently limited my account claiming it's a risk. :( The worst thing is that i still have $1500 in the account that's locked for 6 months.

Losing a stealth pp usually doesn't get me this upset. It kinda feels like I've lost a real account. I have a few sleeper accounts ready to go so i don't know why i am feeling so down about it.

i think it's just everything put together...i've been having slow sales in the last 2 months so my profits are down... then i lost a dispute and now, having $1500 locked for 6 months.

:(

curious. does anyone else feel upset when they lose a stealth or do you view it as not a huge deal because you already have backups?

Depends on how much you have put into growing the account.

I lost two accounts with limits of 100/$5000 and 90/$9000 within a week. I almost gave up stealthing because I put so much into growing the accounts. After about a month, I lost another account 100/$5000 with EIN attached to the corresponding PayPal, this hit me more than the others.

After that experience, all has been well. On of of the above accounts, a competitor shut me down. Unfortunately, they are not selling on their legit account, I would have hailed on them.

All my PayPals have never had any issues.

Now it doesn't phase me if it happens, I spread sales,so thin and keep growing everyday that, I only need a few sales per stealth account per month or longer, so the days of having that one power selling machine is gone for me.

This way I'm so under the radar, I rarely have any problems anymore because my accounts look like an occasional seller

And I'll never sell an item that expensive, losing $1600 would sting me as well, there's just too many scammers and other problems that will arise that the items I sell on eBay are from $10- $45 and that is my cost and I can make 3 times my cost in profit.

And that saves on a lot of the pain of losing an item or dispute, because I'm able to because of the profit margins of my items

I know you can get insurance, but either way u will need to wait things out and I just like to buy and sell and keep,it simple and smooth, and I build thr business to be able to absorb any hits

I save more expensive items for Amazon and not even that much more,,I will not sell an item that costs more than $200

I tend to find lower costing items that have bigger profit margins and I no longer need.to get upset anymore

Before I'd nurture the account like a baby and be very patient and allow it to mature and than I'd wait 90 days before selling anything to just get restricted when the money starts flowing

EBay wants to rid the small seller so I have transformed my whole strategy with eBay, and it involves a lot of accounts, I make 3 accounts everyday, and I'll have 2 day periods here and there where I'll do nothing but build accounts.

And I'll make the eBay account by verifying it over the phone , which stabilizes it,and makes it a little stronger and my first item now is an item where I'll make at least a $50 -$70 profit, and than I'll move to the next account and won't go back to that account for 4-6 weeks , sometimes little longer now because I'm expanding everyday

And that is my strategy to avoid that heartache of losing that one account that was a powerhouse money maker

Almost lost one that was established in 2011 this week - annoyed me for a bit while I had to call and deal with the details...I do get annoyed if the account has been a long time in the making

It is ALWAYS upsetting when you take a loss. It does not matter if it is a loss because of a closed account or because of a scamming buyer, or whatever.

Mourn the account for a few minutes if you must, then move on.

Most of the successful people using stealth have a few things in common. One of those things is the ability to process a loss and move on. Because EVERYTHING that takes away from your main goal (making sales) is a waste of your time and resources.

Losses happen. They cannot be totally eliminated, you can only manage the risk. I always try my best with all of my accounts, but if one goes down, it goes down. I cannot control what eBay/PayPal/Amazon does. If there is a chance of getting the account back, I will TRY, but if not I just move on. That is really all you CAN do. You can cry, scream, yell and send emails to Jeff Bezos until you are blue in the face and it will not change anything.

I always get upset when I lose an account, who doesn't?

The difference now, from say 1 year ago...is that I have 10 or so to replace that one I lost.

Life is much less stressful now when losing an account as it was before I really delved into the stealth game.

I only get really pissed about it when it's because of a competitor or idiotic buyer. If it's my own slip up, I let it go. When someone else is the cause, I get angry for a few hours...maybe curse like a sailor...and move on to a different account.

Upset anyone should feel. Look at it as your money is now locked in a savings account.

Always good to build multiple stealth accounts and rotate them.

You can never argue the saying 'never put all your eggs in one basket' or two baskets for that matter! It also doesn't hurt to transfer funds from PP each time you get a payment for future reference.

Also never good to just rely solely on PP for funds (i.e. never have all needed $ stuck in PP)

Touch word, not been struck with that.

I find the stake, the garlic and the vood-doo dolls are a great aid AND using eBay Stealth. LOL.

Back in the early days of red heading emails, I used to just pin them on the dart board and throw darts at them.

(Said dartboard was in the bathroom, if you get my drift)

It depends on how long you had the account, how much profit your now having to move to other less stable accounts...

Yea I mourn them... Then I drink a beer and pour some in the ground and say a little prayer for the loss... Drink couple more beers while moving products around and maybe making couple more stealths. For every one I lose I will make 2... In the end I feel better. Kinda like one step back, two steps forward...

Amen!

@newjerseymax - Why exactly did you revive this thread? Were you sitting around drinking beer and thought to yourself "man, I think I'm going to share with others how I handle losing accounts by reviving a thread from a year and a half ago."

HAHAHAHA, I kid, I kid..

Never leave any money in Paypal that you cannot afford to lose. To answer your question, I think every1 in the forum feels some sort of depression specially when they worked hard to earn money and build their accounts.
