Default Listing Limits?

Quick question. Anyone know if there is a list of categories where you can only list 4-6 items in and then they limit you and you have to wait for your account to age and get good feedback? IE. Microsoft Software. Or any software for that matter. Anyone got any ideas? Sorry I searched but couldn't find anything.

You don't want to sell Microsoft software unless you want nothing but problems with your account and to get sued. Stay clear of that stuff.

Welcome to the forums seanatlargo.

First of all, I would recommend you make contributions on what has worked for you before asking for info on what works for other people =) Two way street especially for new folx.

Not trying to be arrogant but by talking about DVDs, you're asking for business models.

All the best.

I am not asking what to sell or how to sell it.. I am asking about Listing limits. So maybe you read it wrong or I wrote it wrong. What catagories have limits and how often can you post a product in the category. Like Software you can only post 4 then wait 30 days. Then a higher limit. Then so on. Is this the same for dvds? or can you post 30 auctions under DVDs. ETC. Do you understand?

Ah ok - understood sean. Sorry for my miscomprehension then. I don't know the limits in other categories.

I know for giftcards it's one ha. Sorry that I cannot be of more help. Hopefully others will chime in then.

Wasn't there a way to MISLIST gift cards...I used to (as of 3 months ago) sell gift cards, usually 3 at a time.

I was told by one of the ebay circus monkeys that new accounts have a 10 item limit PER CATEGORY. I always do cross-category anyway, so it's not an issue for me.

I noticed that too. I wonder if it's per parent category? Or per sub-category? Like Clothes/Women, and Clothes/Men? Or do the 2 count as 1?

I think 2 count as 1. On an account around 30 days + old I can post about 4-6 listing under software until I get limited. But I wouldn't imagine that being the same in clothing unless you are selling LV or D&G.

It appears to be 10 per sub-category. I have went beyond 10 in a certain major category with no problems.

Depends on the AGE of the account and FEEDBACK rating. I move 50 DVDs a day, no problems, my friend moves 100 a day.

If you are moving that much product A DAY...don't worry then...just keep on creating BACK UP accounts so that money never stops!

I suggest keeping around 20-30 on reserve. Overkill? Not until the day you stop making money and get 5 accounts banned at once!
