Default Now you need verified paypal to sell on eBay.com.au

Now in ebay.com.au, we can't sell with unverified paypal account anymore

As just now I try to list an item and I got this message :

"Confirming your identity
To keep eBay a safe place to buy and sell, all members need to confirm their identity. This also helps build trust between buyers and sellers.

Providing PayPal with your bank account information is the most secure way to confirm your identity.

If you're already PayPal Verified, you can also link your PayPal account to your eBay account to confirm your identity.

Note: To confirm your identity, you'll need both a valid bank account and a PayPal account.

To confirm your identity by providing your with your bank account information:
Select the option to provide your bank account information, and click the Continue button.

Confirm or fill in the required account and contact information, or sign-up for a new PayPal account.

You'll receive an email in your Messages in My eBay to let you know that PayPal received your information.

Important: Keep this message and return to it once you receive the deposit.

PayPal will make two random deposits (each less than a dollar) to your bank account. You’ll be asked to verify the amounts of those deposits to confirm your identity.

Check your bank account to see the deposit amounts, usually available in three to five days.

Return to your email message and click the Confirm your identity button.

Log into PayPal and enter both deposit amounts correctly. This lets us know that it's your bank account.

Once your identity has been confirmed, you can continue buying and selling on eBay.

To link your eBay account to your PayPal account:

click My eBay at the top of most eBay pages.

Under the Account section, click the PayPal Account link.

Click the Link My PayPal Account button. You'll be asked to log in to PayPal to finish linking your accounts."

Does anyone also get same message like this from eBay

Thanks

So if you have a stealth ebay account you don't need a verified paypal account is this correct?

Hey, Sky. That's true.
Things have been like that for a while, and even worse, Paypal is more restrict at the same time.

Now Bopo (Prepaid VISA card issuer aspkin mentions in his book) shut down.
We really need some new tools to work this out.

You use a REAL bank account with real numbers. You can not use made up numbers

When you first joined the forum, the recommendation was to sell with a verified paypal. It should be no surprise now that you need one. Maybe it's because of what you sell you are having problems all the time. I dunno

If you simply make up a bank account, how can you confirm the deposits? How can you withdraw money if it actually gets to the bank? How do you even know if there *IS* an account with that number? If there's no account to that number, the money would go back to Paypal. And you can bet they'd wait a while before letting you know about it - THEN give you a holy hell of a time when you tried some other means of cashing out.

Think first. Then say your question out loud to yourself. Then decide if you really needed to ask *US* about it...

lol @something in the water. It's those Jack Daniels taste testers!

Ok I just started selling on my sisters account as she only buys stuff and has no intention of selling anything.

to answer your question her Paypal account is unverified... I just verified this myself (that it is unverified). But this account is a few years old so I'm guessing that is something that has come in with new accounts.

So far only one sale has gone through it and another on the way.

She's not going to set up a bank account in her name just for me and she is reluctant to add her bank account details to paypal because she's a girl and a great deal of the ones I know don't trust financial matters to computers.

So now I'm wondering if it's ok to send money from her bank account to my stealth account which has aged for just over a month. My stealth account
is verified.

Oh sorry I should clarify that my sister used to have her account addresses at the same postal address as me (our parents place) 666 credibility St. She lives elsewhere now.

My initial ebay account which is suspended was set up for 666 Credibility St too.

My stealth account is not at that address I'm just weighing up the risks of sending it from her account which is untainted by limitations or negative feedback to my stealth account which is newish to withdraw it.

I was going to put a message like 'Heres that down payment for the web site' I'll send the rest later.

It seem that you have Control over your sisters Paypal account, If that is the Case I would Simply add a Bank account that you control to your sisters Paypal account, Remember Paypal does Not match the Information of the Bank account to the Paypal account ( Not in the US anyway)

As for the Address it is a Problem, Somewhere in the User Agreement it Does State that Paypal Retains the right to suspend you if you live with a suspended user or something to that effect.

Yeah ok, I've had bank accounts on real accounts that didn't exactly match the paypal account name and it worked no worries.

Although if flags did go up and new limitations in palce... I'm sure they'd be checking these things. When my first paypal account was limited it said to have the limitation removed all names on ebay/paypal/bank acc MUST match.

She doesn't live at that address (from the suspended account) anymore, but it would still be on the paypal system that she did live there.

They want you to believe that, but it isn't true. Call your bank. Don't tell them who you are. Just give them your account number and ask them who's name is on the account. See what they tell you (or rather, what they don't tell you).

Sometimes they do, this is true. Legally, they'd damned well better not.

So, anyone in doubt about their institution's dedication to protocol, law, and privacy - put it to the test.
