Here's a crazy idea that might work for a non-US person to open a US account.
Since you will need to pay taxes on US income (or at least file tax forms telling them they get no money from you - whatever applies), why not hire an accountant? Hire the accountant or bookkeeper in the US for recordkeeping purposes, and as part of the deal you use their office or home address. Then open the bank account in the US and have the accountant or bookkeeper receive your bank statements...or opt for online statements only.
Voila! US account, and US address for bank account.
I'm in the US, so even if I had tried it things might work different for me so I cannot say for sure that this is a 100% good solution, but it's worth finding a bookkeeper or accountant to try. Or maybe even contact the bank's new accounts department anonymously first and ask if that's acceptable to them before involving the bookkeeper or accountant.
