Stupid idiots | They have a stupid rule that if its over 20mm they will have to ship it as a parcel since they will use man power instead of machine, but 99 percent of work is done by people anyways...
So do not waste your time and go to the post office. Buy yourself a small scale, download the price per weight for lettermail pdf on the canada post website, and buy the stamps (1.03, 1.25, 0.59) and just drop it off at the post box.
Same goes when shipping DVDs and CDs to the states, just use the postage required for letter mail to the states, instead of paying for the small packet service, and you will save liked 2 dollars. And it takes the same amount of time for the buyer to receive it.
Also the size of the envelope. I used regular cd mailer for CDs shipped to the U.K and I had to pay 5 bucks, and once i downloaded the pdf and realized i can cut down the size of the envelope or use smaller envelopes I saved 4 bucks... What a joke lol. So try to cut (literally) down the packaging if possible for the product you want to ship (look at the dimensions on the pdf).
I shipped over 55 products that were over 2cm thickness and DVDs/CDs using letter mail and it went through.
PDF files are all located here. Canada Post - Canada Post Prices
